My HC1500 has started taken up to 10 tries before turning on for about a month now. Today I stupidly blew some compressed air in the vents right after it turned on to see if dust was causing the buzz saw sound that started after the lamp was replaced last year, but there was a PoP and a flame that blew out the side (lft side when mounted on ceiling) and a burnt smell after. Know I get a single solid red light, but will not turn on. Tried a lamp reset, but still nothing. I do not know if I blew the lamp or if something else happened. The lamp is not broken, but does have black dust inside by the screen on the side. I do not want to buy a new bulb if something else is broken. how do I check if it is the bulb??
SOURCE: Hi, My hc1500 Is having a problem. When I turn it
The clicking sound is the high voltage power supply trying to
ignite the gas in the lamp. The lamp is not firing and coming on.
Check the bulb/ lamp life. Possible the lamp has exceeded its
useful life and may need to be replaced.

This sounds like an overheat issue and requires return under warrantee.
