Heat not coming on. battery died.

I have a honeywell rth230b tstat. while on a 6 day trip, i came home ot find the heat running nonstop and a temp of over 99 degrees. The display was blank. I took off and changed the batteries (there was never a low batt warning), and the heater finally shut off. (Packaged Furnace/Air Conditioner, Gas/Electric). Now the heater won't come on even though temp is under setting programmed. Itook off and tried the red/white wire trick, and heat did not come on. What kind of problem does that indicate?

Please go to the link and check graph "2.5 Installing the Batteries". Its really easy so it should be a piece of cake.https://customer.honeywell.com/resources/techlit/TechLitDocuments/69-0000s/69-1800.pdf

Testimonial: "i already stated in my initial post that I changed the batteries. The heat is not coming on though, and the temp is below the setting temp. when i turn on the fan, it blows cold air. when it's set to AUTO, it doesnt even turn on."

Well the fan only moves air, it does not cool or heat it. In auto the air should stay off until the unit requests it. If you set the tstat to "70" and its "76" inside and system is set to cold you need to call a service to rewire the tstat because its wired wrong.

Not sure where in my original post i said that i have no idea what I am talking about. I tried to be as detailed as possible. The unit kept running when the batteries dies in my tstat. I changd the batts and got it to stop running. It was over 99 degrees in my house. Ater the batts were changed, the temp is set to 66 degrees and it went down to under 60 because of a cold smnap in the area. The heat didnt come on. its set to HEAT and AUTO. When i switch from AUTO to ON, the fan blows, but its cold air. I will just call a guy today since it was assumed that I know absolutely nothing. Was told to CHANGE BATTERIES after my post had already said that I did. Then told that if the TEMP IS SET TO &) and ITS & AND THE AC DOESNT COME ON

make sure the system switch is in the cool position, then press run program button and allow a couple of minutes for system to cycle on, if it doesn't come on press the button for lowering the set point, set it to 72 degrees and then press the hold temperature key.

Yes, the battery must be replaced. Gently lift or pull of cover, the battery compartment is there. Best of wishes.

Honeywell RTH230B thermostat: everything works fine, but suddenly the Fan ON function doesn't work. The fan is OK (works on Auto in Heat mode), and I put in new batteries. What's up? John

To test if tstat is bad, remove the face plate. Turn power off and put red and green together and resume power. your blower should run. if it does the tstat is bad

I installed a new Honeywell RTD7600D thermostat that functions well except it allows the HVAC to come on before the end of a scheduled event.

I was reading the manual to find your tstat is equipped with "smart response technology." Nowhere could I find where this function can be disabled though I would think it could be. It states that the tstat learns how long your equipment takes to reach a desired setpoint. For instance if your wake time is 6:00am and 70 degrees temp, the unit will begin running before 6 so that AT 6 it will be 70 degrees. THOUGH it does state that if this is actually what is happening the tstat should display recovery/ in recovery!! I would think this could be disabled, may want to call honeywell's customer service is this is the case. Or as stated, maybe just a bad tstat, Hope this Helps!!

My 9 year old Honeywell T8001C has no display. My FAU AC power breaker is not tripped. I tried a new Honeywell RTH2510B and a RTH7500D but the Fan does not come on with either of the new units after...

This is why battery powered tstats are misleading. The battery provides the power to the tstat but your unit is not providing low voltage in order to run. Air conditioners are controlled by relays and contactors. This means your unit constantly has high voltage going to it but each component runs through a relay in order to turn on. These relays are energized by the low voltage that runs through your tstat. Your tstat is not getting this low voltage. Either your float switch on your drain line is tripped, your blade style fuse is blown on the secondary side of the transformer or your transformer is bad.

I replaced the battery to honeywell RTH230B. Heat won't turn on.

I followed a comment from a previous source and reversed the polarity of the batteries. I then flipped them back to the correct position and the flashing battery indicator went away and the thermostat functions correctly.

Inducer and ibm turns on and stays on no heat or cooling

Check to make sure you have 24-28 volts between R and C. If you do, you probably have a bad board but you also need to verify that you have the same voltage between W and C on a heat call if not then it could be something in the tstat ot he wires (jumping R and W pretty much rules this out).
The Kill switch may not reset the board, kill the power to the furnace itself.
Was the problem there before the new tstat was installed?
Also on some models continuous blower is initiated by a "kicked" roll out switch or and overtemp condition, Check for continuity on the whole safety circuit.
