- brand new - on first use - producing only very weak pressure. Motor comes on with no faults, runs constantly, just the pressure is weak.Tried to clear it from any bubbles by running the water true the system for few minutes with no luck. Will really appreciate your help. thank you
SOURCE: won't run with air filter on
I have a fairly new pressure washer with the same problem and discovered that because it was temporarily stored on its back (rather than upright), oil seeped into the air filter housing. If you look at the air filter it may not look like it has oil on it - especially if the oil is new. Mine runs fine without the air filter, but as soon as I put it in, it does the same as yours. I came across this site since I am looking to order a new filter. Hope this helps.

Dear Davidpaulson,
There are many reasons why there is no pressure. The simplest one is try a new lance. The lance you say it is not blocked, but it could have a wider hole with wear and tear.
The second most possible reason is, faulty valves. The suction valves are the most that give low pressure when they are faulty. To check the suction valves, put on the machine in the normal way and as it is working, disconnect the water supply. Than check if air or water is blowing out from the inlet. This is not 100% but you can have a picture of the function of the suction valves.
On the other hand if you do this exercise with the outlet, after removing the gun, you can check for the delivery valves. If you feel suction at the outlet, than the delivery valves can be faulty.
If all is correct, than there must be a fault in the swash plate. This could become loose and so the pistons will stop moving. Also another fault could be broken springs.
Also if the machine is leaking, the high pressure and low pressure seals are damaged. This also lowers pressure.
Other faults are related to the famous spill valve. Also faults could be to internal water leakages, due to corrosion in heads. Finaly I like to add that a faulty electric motor, could also not deliver enough rotation and power, and this also reduces pressure. This could be rewinded or changed for a new one.
Regards,
MG.

Try and back flush the washer..Take spay nozzle off washer and back flush with hose...If any kind of sand or deposits get into the Pump it will hold pressure valve open not letting it build pressure.after back flushing hook back up washer and before you put spar nozzle back on or start washer turn water on and make sure all air is out of washer..hook spray nozzle back up and hold it open with washer still off.when you see that there is no more air coming out of washer start it and you should have pressure.Hope this helps you and have a great day!!

disconnect the hoses to and from the machine and the try it.
the machine might have a blocked nozzle in the lance, of so get a paper clip and clear the jet backwards
