Is it a universal remote? Some codes will only allow a few functions. Maybe you have an incomplete code.
If the remote is an original geared for that TV, then the buttons must be deteriorating. I don't think a TV can be at fault if the same receiver picks up the same buttons.
Why am I unable to program the RCA remote control to operate a component?
Why am I unable to program the RCA remote control to operate a component?
If you are unable to program the remote control to operate a component, review the following information:
Compatibility If
none of the programming procedures work, the universal remote control
may not be compatible with your components, based on the type of
infrared technology and the age of the components. Some RCA universal
remote controls will only work with components manufactured after 1990.
Distance If
you are testing the remote control after you have entered a code, you
may be too far away from the component or you may not have the remote
control aimed directly at the component. Because the remote control
uses infrared (IR) technology to communicate with components, there
must be an unobstructed path between the remote control and the IR
sensor on the component.
Code Entry Methods If the Direct
Code Entry method was used to enter the codes for your brand and the
unit is still not functioning properly, try one of the automatic code
search methods instead. During automatic code search, the remote
searches for the correct code to program.
Modes For the
remote control to know which component you wish to operate, you must
put the remote control in the correct mode by pressing the
corresponding component button.
Combo Units To program the
remote control to operate combo units, such as TV/VCR’s, TV/DVD’s, or
TV/VCR/DVD’s, use the combo codes in the Code List to program the
individual corresponding component buttons. Once programmed
successfully, the TV button controls the TV functions on your unit, and
the DVD or VCR button controls the DVD or VCR functions, respectively.
The codes in the combo section should be tried first, using the Direct
Code Entry method on the TV and DVD or VCR buttons. If this is
unsuccessful, use one of the Code Search methods to program your combo
unit.
Batteries Make sure the batteries are new and properly installed.
the only reason why these functions are not working is because your Remote control is on TV mode. The best way to resolve it is by Pressing the ATT button on the upper left hand corner of your remote and all functions will work..
I hope this helps you and please don't forget to rate me.
Thank you.. :)
Sometimes the first code that "works" with your device may operate only a few functions of your device. There may be another code in the code list that performs more functions. Try other codes from the code list for more functionality.
This is a trial and error procedure; and quiet time consuming. You might have to check different codes said for your device. Set-up (Programming) procedure is too much to type in here, and is not practical and it will differ brand-to-brand remote controls. If you wish to get more; check the sites linked here. The site has set-up code list & set-up procedure to many popular brand remote controls. The site has general set-up codes to check with TVs and other devices are given, in the order of the 'device's brand name list' in alphabetical order. Set-up code list to many brand remote controls also is given. Pull up older posts. Search the sites by type in the brand name to your device in its search box at the top right part of the display window. It will help you to find the document easily. http://homenol.blogspot.com/ http://remotesearch.blogspot.com/ http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/ http://electrohelponline.blogspot.com/
Programming the remote to a TV can definitely be done. I have provided
the steps below along with a few codes. You can visit the link to
look-up your model specific codes!
1.) Press and hold the clear TV button until all mode lights light up.
2.) Release and TV light will be blinking.
3.) Enter code and press #. The TV button should flash 3 times.
4.) Try functions (Volume, Power, etc..) and see if working.
5.) If no function, repeat steps 1-4 with another code.
i would suspect your control buttons on your front panel on the set have become shorted. specifically the volume buttom down. This is freezing you control functions. like someone is holding the volume down button all the time. or intermitantly. this cuircit board is on front of the set. I have seen this problem a few times at the shop. The common repair is to replace that button assembly cuircit board. I believe the last time it cost the customer around 85 dollars, but like all things depends on the part and the technician that puts it in.
Used ur original tv remote?Try website like Remotes.com to buy an exact tv original remote.Universal remotes only can do the tv basic.Open up tv menu to do within functions within the tv,more personal complex to the individual tv itself.
Remote codes are programmed into the remote at time of and since the TV was manufactured after the remote it will be unable to have the code as TV manufacturers change codes often. You can try having a 20 or 21 remote sent to you but ensure it will work with your receiver. These remotes are programmable and ar able to learn functions of other remotes. Thanks for using Fix Ya.
This is odd.. I have a UN model, the 6000 actually and all remotes have stopped having any effect on the Television, even the units original remote. I can access every other device except the TV, it's as if the RF sensor on the TV has failed to function anymore. Let me know if you found a solution to this problem!
If your remote transmitter is multifunction, such sa TV; DVD; and VCR operative; You may be in the wrong mode. Press the TV function first and then try to change the volume. If you still have problems, the remote may be defective.
