If a key on a laptop keyboard stops working it's usually bad news for the keyboard as it may well need to be replaced. Test the 'feel' of the button. Does it feel different compared to other buttons when you press it? I.e. does it feel loose, stiff, wobbly or like it sticks? Stiff or sticky could mean there is something stuck under the button, loose or wobbly could mean it is mechanically broken. Sometimes turning your laptop on it's side and tapping it firmly, not hard, can release it if there is a mechanical fault. Unfortunately however I think the fault is most likely to be an unrepairable one. You could always plug in an external USB keyboard to check if it the G key responds just to rule out an operating system fault but it is unlikely to be that. If the G button works when using the external keyboard you can be sure it is your laptop keyboard that is broken.
Replacement keyboards cost around $30 (eBay). There's a good guide on youtube showing how to remove the keyboard. http://youtu.be/OOor4uZRM9g
It could just be that your horns are bad and need replacing. You got to the horn relay and have somebody push the horn buttons while you hold your fingers on the relay, if you feel it click the your buttons are good and you have bad horns.
your belt is wear out or it is loosecheck to see if it is loose by depressing the beltif it feel lose you might have to replace it with a new one,or adjust the exixting belt tighter.
check you wiring harness for loose wires and then check your fuses. If that dont work check every wire on the whole thing, every main connections from the non working buttons
Hi! You can remove the back cover (remove front cover first) and check if the connection is not loose - there's a flexible key board glued to the internal frame - it may loose connection with the main board as key board cable's leads are from graphite - it's very cheap and unreliable solution, cables like these get damaged quite easily. If the cable is in the connector, looks OK, but the keys still won't work - the key board has to be replaced. It comes with the frame. If you feel like repairing it yourself, I can sell you a new frame with the key board. If not, contact your local Kodak service center or me at [email protected]
You didn't say if it's new out of the box, anyway, check to see if any of the buttons feel abnormal when you press them, they should all feel by press identical. It's possible just a stuck button.
Let me know!
