Put dvd player in standby mode and press 3,6,9 buttons on dvd remote to turn off progressive scan off.
Let me know exact model number of your dvd player if above solution does not work.

In order to use progressive scan you must have a progressive scan compatible tv. Check your users manual to find out if its compatible. If it is it should give instructions to turn on the progressive scan option for tv.
Unfortunately if the door is latched but with power then the loading motor section is struck or failed. If there is no power at all the power supply unit has failed. you will need to check on the SMPS unit . Check my tips column for SMPS maintenance.
No can do the set cant deal with that signal. turn off prgressive scan on the DVD the signal is still a preaty good one. Only blue ray or HD DVD will get the real HD.
The machine was inadvertently switched to Prgressive Scan mode which only works if you have the proper cables and receiver.
The following sequence runs through the menus that you cannot see when the mode is incompatible and switches off the progressive scan mode:
Turn machine on (no disc).
Press down arrow 3 times, then press OK.
Press down arrow 2 time, then press OK.
Press OK again.
Press down arrow 1 time, then press OK.
The DVD player at the back as the diff o/t for the Prgressive scan.
Plug the cables to that nd the click on setup, where you can hardly see.. move to the 2nd option and select scan
