Sharp Aquos LC40LE810UN turns off for a couple of minutes and then turns back on again. it happens a few times a night.

My Sharp TV turns itself off and then after a minute or two turns back on. the remote power button nor the main power button have any effect. It is quite annoying and would like to figure it out in case it is a precursor to something more serious that might happen. I would like to fix it before it turns into an expensive problem if that is at all possible.

SOURCE: Sharp Aquos turns itself off

How many times per second does the POWER led blink? (dont worry about the OPC).

1x per second (constant, steady blink) = bad inverter/lamps
2x per second = bad power supply
3x per second = bad main board

You can buy the parts online and fix if yourself!!

SOURCE: Sharp 52" Aquos LCD Will Not Turn ON-Blinking LEDs

I had a similar problem. Fleeting video, then audio only for few seconds and then nothing except the green power LED blinking on and off.
I changed the power inverter board, backlight inverter boards and power supply board but still the problem is not gone.

Just 18 month old TV and out of warranty.

My Sharp LE820 Aquos LED TV recently auto turn itself off, when I turn it back on, a few good 10 minutes or so later it automatic turn itself off again.

Please check that the sleep timer did not somehow get set. If it's not the sleep timer, check if the panel stays ON longer after it's been off for awhile to cool down. Possibly a heat problem with the power supply or main board.

We had a really bad storm yesterday with a lot of lightning. our power flickerd on and off a couple times but all of our electronics are plugged into surge protectors. everything in our house is working...

Few mins will not resetting tv and recovering power supply board from it protection modes that quick.Tries tv unplug, replug it back like about an hour later for tv resetting it back to the factory setting. The tv should get out it protections modes and might work again. If tv still have the same problems, than enough high currents got in the tv and kill ur tv power supply board. That the board where the power a/c cord plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole new refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

Sharp aquos lines threw the picture

I've seen this problem before and if caught early (usually only a few pixels), its fixable. But if it has already started forming a "line" it might be too late and you might have a defective LCD panel. Most of the time, doing the factory initialization helps with this problem.

  1. unplug tv
  2. press and hold at the same time “Vol –“ and “input” button on the TV set.
  3. while holding those buttons, plug the tv back in
  4. the tv should turn on by itself, keep holding the buttons until the letter “K” appears. Then let go
  5. then at the same time press “Vol –“ and “Ch. Down”, you should see the service menu appear (if it does not appear, try pressing the two buttons again, it needs to be exactly at the same time)
  6. Then use the “Ch. Down” button to navigate down the service menu until you see “Industry Init” (NOT Industry Init +cause)
  7. Then press “Vol +” to toggle it to “ON”
  8. Then “/////////////////” should appear.
  9. when the screen turns GREEN, unplug the TV. Wait about 30 seconds, then plug the TV back in.
  10. Then continue on with the initial setup again.
