I'm not 100% certain but I believe Role serial numbers are usually a mixture of letters and numbers. A couple of quick checks you can do are to open the back of the case and check the movement for a serial number and markings. Also another quick thing to note is the action of the second hand, does it "jump" or sweep round.

SOURCE: rolex daytona

Rolex does not engrave the case back. If it says 24 hours at Daytona, or wording like that, the watch is not real... It's a fake, or as we say more kindly.. It's a replica, and can be bought on any replica watch web site for $30 to $80, for an automatic mov't.,  21J, made in China.
Also, the sub-dials will not function on this watch. A Daytona needs the proper movement to operate the chronograph as it was intended..... To act as a stopwatch.. and measure time... seconds, minutes and hours. This is done by activating pushers at 2 and 4 positions, and the pushers on 21J replicas just don't operate a chron. for the purpose of measuring time. They may move and measure something else, like military time, or the date, but definitely not record seconds, minutes or hours. There are also no manuals on how to operate the Daytona that comes with these replica watches. You should know how this watch functions and how to operate the pushers, and what they do before you should buy and enjoy this type of chronograph watch. It's simple, just take the time to ask people in the know... how the daytona works, what the sub-dials measure and how to use them, etc. In no time you'll understand the operation of this beautifully made watch. Unfortunately, a daytona is out of reach for most of us... That's why seeking out a quality rolex replica for much less money is the way to go if you love this watch... A quality one can look, feel, and function just as good as the authentic Daytona, and you won't have to out out over $10K to get one.

Doug

SOURCE: Real or Fake

Real cartier santos watches are engraved on the back of the watch not etched on the back like a fake. Also the word cartier is engraved on the clasp of the bracelet. Do not but unless these two conditions are satisfied.

SOURCE: is this a real or fake serial number E56121.1

Not true, it is real, I've got the same breitling and I know it's real. It's an emergency watch generally used by military personnel.

SOURCE: i have an old Rolex Geneve Cellini watch gold 12

The quickest way to spot a fake Rolex is by the second hand. Is the second hand ticking or sweeping. If it's ticking it's fake. A real Rolex's second hand moves around the dial in one continuous movement.

Check for a small engraved crown on the crystal at 6 o'clock. Most fakes will have something similar. The difference is that the crown on a real one is almost impossible to see by just your eye.

Look for the word "Rolex" and the watch's serial number engraved at 6 o'clock under the crystal on the area between the crystal and the dial. While many fake Rolex watches post-2005 have this feature, they're usually printed, not engraved.

Most other ways relate to newer Rolex watches.
Hope this helps and hope it's the real deal.

I have a rolex that has daytona in red on the face winner and rolex 24 on the back, real or not.

Thank you for contacting FixYa.

1. Rolex watches don't tick! An immediate way to tell if a Rolex is authentic is to listen to it. If it's ticking, it's definitely a fake!

2. Genuine Rolexes are made from very sturdy materials. For this reason, they are going to feel heavy in your hand. Your fakes are constructed from cheap, less-durable materials, and because of this, are usually very light. A real Rolex will have bands that are full and solid. Knock-offs will usually have links that are hollow, which is why they weigh so very little.

3. Rolexes have a smooth and continuous second hand movement. Another way to tell if a Rolex is authentic is if the second hand jerks as it travels around the face. If it does, it's a textbook fake.

4. Rolexes have a crystal bubble called a "Cyclops Magnification Bubble." This crystal bubble magnifies the date 2.5 times. Your fakes will usually be off-center and made of glass, and only offer 1.5 times the magnification.

5. Another sure way to tell is to look at the lettering and numbers. If you look at these with a jeweler's loupe, every line and edge will be perfect and precise. On a fake, the lettering edges will not be clean. Serial numbers and case numbers will often look as though they were sand-blasted, or will not be etched cleanly into the surface. Any imperfection will tell you right away if the Rolex is authentic.

6. All Rolexes feature a hologram sticker on the back. This sticker features the Rolex Crown and case reference number. Counterfeits will have the sticker, but it will not be holographic.

7. Certain models of Rolexes have an extra seal called a "Triplock Crown Seal." This feature is common to your Daytona and Submariner models and is found between the winding tube's threads. It will be missing on all of your replicas.

8. Rolexes have a micro-etched crown. Etched into the crystal just below the 6 o'clock position is a tiny crown. The mark is so small that it can only be seen under magnification. The detail on this micro-etching is perfect, making it impossible for the imitations to duplicate.

9. Knock-offs will usually have a glass, or "skeleton" case back. Genuine Rolexes will never have a clear or see-through case back. This should be a dead giveaway and will immediately tell you if the Rolex is authentic.

10. Rolexes have a face that is composed of sapphire crystal. Faux watches will usually use regular glass instead. Because of the extremely smooth surface, water dropped onto the sapphire crystal face of a true Rolex will always bead up. On a fake, the water will simply spread across the face and will not bead up.

Best regards. Jewel

How can i find out if my rolex is a fake? i have a rolex daytona.in the back of the watch just has rolex NO8668. just asking becouse can't find any place to repair it in my little town where i live.

Hi, please ignore the above for it has no relation to your question. The Daytona does not have a date window so would not have a magnification window. If your Daytona has anything engraved on the rear of it, its highly likely to be fake, as Rolex did not engrave the rear of their watches. The second hand on your watch should be the small sub dial at the 6 o'clock position, this moves round continuously. The large second hand should also move round the face once the top pusher is pushed, pushing it again will stop it. Pressing the bottom pusher will reset all the needles back to 12, except the 6 o'clock dial, as this is seconds. If you remove the bracelet from the watch, you should have a series of numbers in between the lugs of the watch, where the strap would of been (before you removed it) At the top, (12 o'clock position) it will have the model reference number. For instance ROLEX DESIGN 116509 On the other side, at 6 o'clock, it will have a serial number, for instance F520773. The F number is what dates the watch.. F is 2005. If you wish to email me the numbers on your Rolex, I will check it for you, free of charge. Email is [email protected] If you have opened the watch, you should also have the watches model reference i.e 116509 stamped into the case back. I can arrange repair for this watch, whatever movement it has inside. Website is luxury sauce dot com, you can contact me via the website.

Need to know if my rolex watch is real not a fake

There are many great web pages to do this with.

One example:

http://www.qualitytyme.net/pages/rolex_or_replica.html

There are also various type of fakes on is to use a real Rolex dial and all and replace it with fake movement.

All i can suggest is do your home work and find a actual Rolex Dealer in your area to talk to.

Im not sure this watch original or not

It's a fake. If it were real you'd have bought it in a real jewelry store with a Rolex franchise. Real Rolex watches aren't sold on street corners. Take it into any jewelry store, they'll tell you for sure.
