My problem is whenever my mp3 player is pluger into my charger or computer, it works perfect. but when i take it out, it turns off and it won't turn back on. why.

It sounds like the internal battery is bad.

When plugged into your computer or the charger those devices are giving your mp3 player an electrical current. When you remove the mp3 player from the source providing the power, the internal battery is not able to continue powering it because it is no longer good.

Unfortunately the SanDisk Sansa Clip MP3 Player's internal re-chargeable battery is not replaceable.

If you still have any time left on your One Year warranty you could have the device replaced.

Good Luck! Thanks for using FixYa!

How To Install A Battery In A Creative Labs Zen Touch Mp3 Player

1) Using a small Philps screwdriver, remove the two screws from the top of the back case cover (near the head phone jack) and unscrew the two remaining screws at the bottom of the back case cover.

2) Carefully wedge a guitar pick, or a small Flat Head screwdriver from the side of the unit, in between the two housings in the middle, unclipping the case clips, using your fingers, carefully pry open the back case cover.

3) Disconnect the power cable by gently pulling on the cable, if needed use the Flat Head screwdriver or needle nose pliers to carefully pull the connector out.

4) Using your finger or the tip of the screwdriver, carefully remove the battery from the glue inside the case cover.

5) Plug in the new battery by pushing the connector into the socket; use the tip of the screw driver if needed. Make sure the battery fits within the guide brackets and does not get in the way of the screw holes. Snap the cover back with the rest of the device, and reinstall the four screws. Charge the new battery for a minimum of 3 hours before the first use.

My slick mp3 will not turn on

You have not mentioned the make/model of the Mp3 player but what could be done is that there is a resett button hidden somewhere on the body. Look for a small pin hole and use an office pin to reset the MP3 player. Now it will turn on. If not connect to the pC and charge the battery, put it on for sometime and check. if not you will need tto check if the batteries have worn out, then replacement is the only solution. Hope this helps. Good day

I have a sansa mp3 player

the headphone jack inside the unit has 3 attachment solder joints the botton right connection point breaks free of the board. the way to fix it is to get a small phlips screw driver remove the 4 black screws on the back of the unit remove the metal back, then remove 4 silver screws on the outer edges inside the unit & remove the board from the front cover & with a soldering iron with a very small tip resolder the loose connector to the board be carefull not to over heat the board or plastic jack & just put the unit back together.

Casing removal

It's under the silver disc with the walkman logo, which is stuck on. I was able to prise mine off with a tiny screwdriver blade to reveal a single screw underneath. A needle or pin might work. Remove the screw and the back slides downwards a little then lifts off. See page 84 in the user guide.
The original battery was stuck to the metal chassis with a dollop of glue. If you remove the 4 tiny screws securing the chassis to the main body then you should find it easier to ease the battery from the metal chassis. Be sure you put the screws down where they cannot be lost! You'll also need to pull the battery wire connector out of the socket to the side - gently but firmly pull towards the top of the player (i.e. in the direction of the wires coming out of the connector) to remove it.
