How do I restore my google account to all of its prior settings AND recover all of my lost messages from the point of where I accidentally selected the wrong option and deleted them all?

have you checked your TRASH folder first?
When you first delete your emails, they will disappear from your INBOX, and go to your TRASH box.

If you have NOT opened your TRASH and deleted anything all the ones you accidentlly blew away should be in there.

All my old mail, sent mail and personal mail is deleted daily how do i retrieve those important things back

Hi,

Did you check in Trash ? Most of the item that are deleted are first go to the Trash where they are deleted after a period of 30 days. If the content is 30 day old then it will be deleted automatically. Rest of the your mails that are not older will not be deleted.

Regards,

Dr. Khawar

Most of my emails have gone missing, can they be retrieved.

Hi and welcome to FixYa!

Common reasons for missing emails;

Settings applied to incoming mail, such as a filter or forwarding

A configuration issue with IMAP1 or POP2 access

Deliberate or accidental human action, or possibly a compromised account

check all of your folders, trash, all mail, forwarding and POP/IMAP settings, and check your filters to make sure nothing is being stopped.

If you've deleted a message permanently, by clicking Delete Forever in your Spam or Trash, you won't be able to recover the message using the Gmail interface.

If you've moved a message to Trash, by clicking Delete, but it's been fewer than 30 days and you haven't permanently deleted it, follow these steps to put it back in your inbox:
  1. Sign in to Gmail.
  2. Click Trash along the left side of any Gmail page. (If you don't see Trash along the left side of your Gmail page, go to the Labels tab in Settings, then click the show link next to the Trash label.)
  3. Locate the message you'd like to move to your inbox, and check the box next to the sender's name.
  4. Click Move to Inbox.
If you feel that someone has been in your gmail, you can test this and see if someone from another IP has been in your mail! ( i really like gmail for so many reasons)

When you sign into your Gmail, look all the way down on the bottom right. It will show recent activity and IP addresses that have accessed your mail. You can also sign up for 'alerts' to unusual activity/sign ins from here.

Hope this helps.

How can i get deleted mesaages (deleted from trashes also)in yahoo.

Losing important emails or accidentally deleting emailsthat you still need can be frustrating. Good news is that Yahoo! Mail providesways to retrieve deleted messages. In fact, whenever you delete a message fromyour inbox, it is automatically transferred to a "Trash" folder incase you need it again in the future. In case your "Trash" folder isemptied, you can still recover deleted messages using Yahoo's"Restore" feature ? Log in to your Yahoo! Mail account.Navigate to the "Trash" folder located at the left portion of thescreen, and then check if the deleted message is there. ? Open the message and select the"Move" option in the Yahoo! mail toolbar. Select "Inbox" orany other existing folder into which you want to transfer the message. It willthen be immediately transferred to your chosen folder. ? Use the "Search" option atthe upper portion of the window if you do not want to browse through severaldeleted emails. Type the email address of the sender or other keywords relatedto the email message and click on "Search." ? Use the "Yahoo! MailRestore" feature to recover mails that have been deleted in the past 24hours. This is if your trash folder is empty and your deleted emails are nolonger available. Click on the "Help" button at the upper portion ofthe screen and then select "Help" once again from the options thatappear. ? Select "Emailing: TheBasics" from the list of "Help topics." Click on "Deletingand Recovering Mails," then choose "Restore Lost or DeletedEmails." ? Read the instructions on how torecover emails that were deleted within the last 24 hours. Complete the requiredform and hit "Submit." You will be prompted once emails are restored.

I accidentally deleted all my emails from my inbox (and then the trash) thinking I was deleting my sent ones - can anyone help?

It's possible, if it's been less than 24 hours since you deleted those emails to recover by filling out this form.

If using Classic:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/cl…

If using All-New:
http://help.yahoo.com/l/us/yahoo/mail/ya…

If more than 24 hours, and the Trash folder has been emptied, there would be no possible way to retrieve deleted emails.

Try to make a habit of NEVER emptying your Trash folder. The emails in that folder are deleted periodically by Yahoo!, so there's no reason for you to take that step.
