Perhaps. Can you get into safe mode and load windows? These days your factory image is saved on a partition on the hard drive. Once we get this fixed I strongly recommend you back that up to a disk.
As you power up/boot your computer press and hold F8. You'll get a black screen with several options one of which is Safe mode with internet access. Allow to boot to windows.
From Windows go to Control Panel, from "Tools" select "Folder Options" then "View Options" Then under "Advanced Settings" select "Show hidden files and folders" Click OK.
You may have to reboot and go back into safe mode as above.
Once you have windows back up.... Right-click the start button and select EXPLORE. This will bring you to your file structure in windows. Use the drop down to see the various drives. Your Factory settings are probably on drive H.
Boot to safe mode by pressng F8 as soon as you start the system,
Once you are in safe mode. try to access system restore. In safe mode you will get access to the system even if it faces a severe error.
If it is complete system restore (Restore to factory defaults) which you are looking for then press ctrl+F11 as soon as you start the computer. It will wipe the entire data and restore the system to its factory settings wiping out the entire data in the system.
Hold down the number "0"key and continue to hold it down as you turn on the laptop. Keep holding the key and then if the laptop makes a sound let go and hopefully it will go into the internal factory restore for your laptop.
If it doesn't then you'll need to restore your laptop with your recovery disks.
Either way the hard drive needs to be wiped out in order to get rid of the virus since it did irrepairable damage to the operating system.
