Hi,

Please start by power cycling your tv and checking whether the tv buttons work afterwards. If not, the you would need to factory reset the tv prior to having normal access to it again.

1 replace the old batteries use new ones alkalines with the same mark and polarities.
2) clean the contacts batteries with c. cleaner.
3) open the remote control, and clean the keypads from dirty, oxide, corrosion, with c. cleaner.
4 Proceed again, if the problem persist, you must go to the repair shop TV or replace by new ones.

yes, look carefully in the manual as I think it has a lock out feature that will lock out both keyboard on set and remote except for on off features.

read or get and read the owner manual===set most likely has a lock out feature for the keyboard on the set==becoming more popular.

look carefully in the manual to see if it has a lock out where all or most buttons do not work--also the remote can be tested--every button--testers are common and also a digital camera in a dark room will react when remote is pointed at it and buttons pressed--flash on camera screen--either the remote or likely the set has it locked out in some way.

· Find the lock button on the Insignia remote control. The lock button is located on the third column from the left on the second row from the top of the remote.

·Stand within operating range of the Insignia TV, then aim the remote at the TV's receiver and press the "Lock" button on the remote control.
