Re-installation will solve your problem. But go for latest silverlight plugin.
- Uninstall silverlight plugin from chrome. There is no need of that in chrome.

  3. Click the Under the Hood tab.
  4. Click Reset to defaults.
  5. In the confirmation dialog, verify your selection by clicking Reset to defaults.

Click the wrench icon (The picture of a tool right to the star on top right corner). Click 'Options' from the menu.
Near the bottom of the screen you will find a button 'Make Google Chrome my default browser'. Just click it!

well the easiest thing to do is sync your browser w/your email address. if you haven't done this, there's really no way to restore it unless you do it manually. to sync google chrome to your email do this:
go to the wrench icon @ the top right.
go to options
click the 'personal stuff' tab on the left
the first option is to sync your account, follow the setup instructions.
If you have already done this, there's a button to resync all your settings. good luck!!

SOURCE: Cannot update Google Chrome Browser

Try this guideline:
Close Google Chrome
Click the Start
In the search box, type CMD
Click on the CMD icon and you will see the command window open
Type: cd %localappdata%\google\update
After you press enter, you cursor should now be in your google update directory
Type: GoogleUpdate.exe /RegServer
Running that only took a second.
Open Google chrome and check 'About Google Chrome' again and it should now check the update servers successfully.


If problem still occurs then use system utility tool Intel Software Partner Reginout.

It would be helpful if you listed your system specs. That is quite an old laptop to be running windows 8 on and you might need to upgrade your RAM. The original system specs say that laptop shipped with 512MB of RAM so if you haven't upgraded, you should.

Change browser in acer tablet
In settings area of browser, you will find chrome set as homepage or default browser. Delete the entry and change to browser you want. Make sure you enter the name correctly. The pc will pop up a box asking if you want this as your default browser. Click yes. Each time you visit google, it will try to get you to change back to chrome. Click no thanks.Eventually, it stops asking.

When I use Chrome for You tube, I don't see the "Download this video" sign
I just want to clarify...
  • Chrome is a web browser like Firefox and Internet Explorer
  • Yahoo Mail... is your email system
  • Youtube is a Google owned video website

Youtube doesn't normally let you download videos. That usually requires a browser plugin.
I'm just guessing, but maybe you were using Firefox in the past with a youtube download plugin or toolbar.
It seems google doesn't list any Chrome extensions for this purpose (hmmmmm... :-) )
But, this one has been mentioned a few times: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/25105
It claims to not require any extra tools to install in Chrome. It worked like a charm for me.

Chrome Adobe Error
Fresh out of Google suppot -

"Download the flash player for windows xpi file - http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/xpi/current/flashplayer-win.xpi

"Rename the file to .zip

"Explore the .zip file and you will see a couple files, flashplayer.xpt and NPSWF32.dll, which you have to copy.

"Open another explorer window and go to the plugins folder of your google chrome browser, which might be at -
C/Documents and settings//Local Settings/Application Data/Google/Chrome/Application/Plugins/

"Paste both the files in this plugins folder and then close your Chrome browser and restart it

Those instructions worked fine for me, but I had to make one small change to the advice given there - Vista uses a different folder structure, so I had to paste the two necessary files into C:\Users\{Username}\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\Plugins

The folder Plugins did not exist when I navigated my way there, so I created it and dropped the two files in, restarted the Chrome browser and ... Voila! Working fine

Other thing I’d say is that my first step was to visit the Chrome Help pages, in particular, http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/answer.py?answer=95697&cbid=1798iqe1e7223&src=cb&lev=answer

and installed Java 6 v 10 like they suggested, before doing the Flash business
