SOURCE: My Nikon Coolpix s230 flash

If there is a problem with the flash itself or the mainboard connection to the flash it will not charge. If the flash won't charge then it won't go off when you take a picture. The only way to fix the problem is to replace the flash with a good used one and see if that fixes it. If not, then you need to replace the mainboard. Good used parts can usually be found online for cheap; that auction website doesn't pay me to type their name, so I don't, sorry. Hope this helps!

Yamaha CX-A 5200 protection circuitry has been activated - won't power on

I would get it fixed at a Yamaha Service Centre, as you don't have the test equipment to find which failed component is causing it to shut down and protect itself.

The only thing you might try is looking for bulging or split capacitors. That WOULD cause circuit protection, because they are power stores and smoothers.

LG symbol on screen flashes on once and red light blinks twice slowly, no sound either. What does 2 blinks indicate ? please advise

Corrupted firmware. A firmware update is necessary. These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

My camera won't take pictures with the flash on and when i try the red light just blinks. only takes pictures with no flash.

When your flash light (I mean the part that gives the flash) or the capacitor that stores the power for the flash are defect. you won't see a flash. When a red light comes on, when actually the flash should fire, the most likely the capacitor is defect. The electronics sensed it could not reach the voltage needed to fire the flash.
It also could mean your battery can't deliver enough to charge the capacitor, but is that was the case the battery indicator should tell you.

I have a 60gb Phat Ps3. I recently went to update it to the latest firmware and it downloaded the update fine and was running normally. Then as it was installing the update, the system shut itself off...

Hello there vincent

If you have the red blinking light then you have the RED light of death AKA the RLOD.

The light is a warning sign to let you know something is wrong. I can give you the quick explanation, There are 2 chips on the motherboard inside the PS3, the GPU (graphics) and the CPU (brain), when playing the ps3 the solder heats up and when you finish playing it cools down, over time this will cause the soldering to crack and the chips to lose connection with the motherboard and you get the RLOD.

WHERE TO GO FROM HERE

Option 1 - Call Sony

In warranty the Price is Free, out of warranty the Price is $150, the whole process is 4-6 weeks

You can call Sony and they will collect the PS3, repair/replace, and deliver the PS3 back to you

Option 2 - Fix it your Self

You can use a PS3 fix manual to get this fixed easily and at home using household tools you probably already own.

Click Here For The PS3 Manual which has helped so many people like you.

Good luck

Best regards

Peter

Bought a new network hard drive 1tb iomega. Operating system requirements is XP. Saleman said it would update on line & work with windows 7. doesnot happen for me . Is it compatible or not? CD will not...

The drive will not update itself automatically. You will have to download the firmware update and update it yourself. You may also want to get the latest Manager software that is Windows 7 compatible.

My colour printouts from new Samsung CLP-310 do not match original WORD 2000 docs colours (or compared to HP deskjet. Is there a MS patch for this?

Hello,

There is an update for your printer. This is a firmware update. A firmware update, rewrites code located on the printer's main system board. The latest update is dated 10/17/08.

Flashing firmware does not have a go back element or undo, so it is really important that we verify your model and what seiries of printer you have. I suspect you have a CLP-300 Series printer and that the 310 of the 300 just describes some features added or left off and even who you purchased it from, in many cases.

Please look at these two photos and then post the data off the name plate for your model number in particular.

You will notice there are two lines to include in your reply.
1.) The Model: (first line)
2.) M/C entry (second to last entry in this photo of the label.

Once you verify this and I post the firmware update link for you, you will need to follow the instructions I include below.

Regards,
Worldvet
