The drip tray sensor microswitch was stuck. Therefore the machine thought you had never removed the tray to empty ground. To fix:

  • Unplug the machine from power for safety.
  • There is a little plastic tab at the back middle of drip tray sticking out next to the ground container tray. Slowly insert the tray and observe this tab poking into a square hole near the bottom of the machine. That's where the sensor is.
  • Use a cotton bud (or a few) to clean the inside of this hole, especially the upper side where the sensor is.
  • If you insert the tray all the way in and hear a click, the sensor is cleaned. Close the door, plug machine into power and enjoy your coffee again.

ok turn the machine on and wait till warmed up. Open door while machine is on and remove the dreg drawer. This you always need to do when the machine is on otherwise it will not reset.
flashing means dreg drawer steady means coffee beans

SOURCE: Saeco Italia sensor problem

In order to reset this, you must remove the drip tray while the unit is powered up or it won't know that it has been emptied.

SOURCE: Delonghi EAM 3400 keeps saying "Empty Grounds Container"

I think the microswitch that sensors the front door is not activated. Try to find it and "give it a massage" The machine resets the counter for the grounds container every time the door switch is activated.

Hi
Sounds like your drain is getting plugged with coffee residue. Remove your brw unit. There is an injector that has 2 orange o-rings in it in the back. That pocket below it is filling with water. There is a drain that is to the bottom left that goes into the drip tray in front. Use a prob of some kind that is about 12" long that you can stick down and forward in the drain pocket. Work it towards the fron and you should open the drain again. it fills with oils, so use some hot sudzy water and clean it out.

Testimonial: "Thank you sir, that was the problem. Did as you said & works without leaks again. "

Cannot find my instructions for cleaning my JURA Impressa 65

Do you mean the Jura Impressa C65? If you are prompted to clean the machine, first touch and hold the Maintenance button for ~2 seconds. You will be prompted to empty the tray. Empty both the drip tray and the grounds container. Replace these. Press Rinse and place a container under the spout. Touch the Maintenance button again. Wait while the water flows into the container. When the water stops flowing, the LCD screen will change from "Cleaning" to "Add tablet". Open the cover of the filler funnel for coffee grounds and place the Jura cleaning tablet in the filler funnel. Close the cover. Touch the Maintenance button again. Wait for the Cleaning cycle message to be replaced by the "Empty Tray" message. Empty the drip tray and coffee ground container again and replace them. The coffee maker will be ready to use when you see Espresso Heating. The procedure for descaling is in the manual.

The instructions are available on the product site, https://www.shopjura.com/impressa-c65.html , under the Manuals tab. The current link is https://us.jura.com/-/media/global/pdf/manuals-global/home/IMPRESSA-C60-C65/download_manual_jura_C60-C65_ul.pdf?la=en&hash=A918AF729D1132A17AF6A80C45F95D8CCC692ACE&em_force=true . The section on cleaning the super automatic coffee maker are in chapter 5, which starts on page 30. The section on Cleaning starts on page 37. The section on Descaling starts on page 39.

I hope this helps.

Empty ground container issue

Once you have the drip tray out and the grounds container out - look inside the unit and clean any grounds that are still in there. Look for a switch that might be sticking (because it's cover with coffee residue) clean everything and check for freedom of movement.

Why empty grounds message stays

So did you empty the grounds?
Pull the plug and plug it back in.
There is an encoder disk that spins around to control the mechanical movements inside the unit. Some mechanical piece is not where it is supposed to be and the circuit board it waiting for a sensor to clear. Cycling the power will normally make all the mechanics reset to the start position and clears errors/jams etc.

I have a new to me Starbucks Italia. I have made a few shots and it is telling me to "empty grounds". I have done so but the empty grounds mssg won't go off and it won't function. what do I need to do?

Hi
When you want to empty the grounds because it says to in the menu, REMEMBER TO LEAVE THE MACHINE ON when you remove the drawer. The machine is a counter and when it reaches the magic number for that machine the message comes on. If the machine is turned off when you pull the drawer out, the machine doesn't know this and the message will be there when you turn the machine back on. Also remember to leave the drawer out for at least 15 seconds or a little longer so the machine thinks you actually dumped the grounds.

Coffee beans empty but not

Could Be one of 2 things, the grind is set too fine and the beans are not getting to the millstones, or there is something blocking the chute for the grounds.

We get the message Unit Cal.Fied - what to do?

You need to run the Decalcyfying program. Push and hold the button with the symbol that looks like a tube with small dots inside. You will get the message empty tray and empty grounds. Do so, and put everything back. The message Solvent or Agent in tank will be displayed. Meassure up 700ml water in a container, put 3 Descaling tablets in the water and let it be completly desolved before you pour this into the empty watertank. It`s very important that you don`t use more liquid, this will make the program run forever. When the solvent is in the tank, push the buttoun again, and the program starts. After a while (20 minutes or so) you will be asked to empty tray/grounds again and to fill the watertank. At this point you can fill up the watertank, this will not affect the running of the program. In the end, you must empty tray/grounds again, and after this the machine is heating up and ready to use. Good luck!

Repeats "empty coffee grinds drawer". drawer is empty.

Check the area behind the draw there might be some ground coffee preventing the tray from sitting correctly.
