Point the tach at any florescent or incandescent light. The analog meter should be right on "36" (for 3600rpm). These house lights flash with the alternating current which is 60 per SECOND. Tachometers are reading how many pulses in 1 MINUTE (Revs Per Minute) which would then be 60 light flashes x 60 seconds = 3600! Perfect calibration!
