Something wrong on your audio amplifier,if you don`t know how to trouble shoot it,let technicians do it for you, they know how to fix it.but if you are a technician/hobbiest,please make an audio test to it`s amplifier to distinguish if it hum or make a noise.also of course, can you check the presence of its supply if it has,if none so trail out the map of it`s circuit where it`s component doesn`t give off voltage.
i hope it will help you to your trouble shooting

Have interference after incoming transmission which remains til mic is keyed stays clear til after next incoming.

perhaps the squelch is set too "open". Try to program a tone code into the radios. Many times the manufacturer expects you to use a tone and they set the squelch too high, or open. This causes the squelch sound because the radio is trying to pull in weaker signals. If you are using a tone code, the model of the radio is needed to tell you if the squelch can be adjusted.

Can I disconnect the squelch on a uniden scanner model# bc142xL? & will scanner still work?

Why would you try to disconnect the squelch? If you turn it one way, it does not work at all. If you don't get any sound it won't be caused by the squelch circuit. You really have to look somewhere else if you don't get any sound.

How do I adjust squelch. Squelch is locked on

I suspect you have it in the continuous monitor mode so follow the directions for getting back into the automatic squelch mode.

AUTOMATIC SQUELCH: The FRS is equipped with an automatic squelch circuitry filtering out weak transmission and unwanted noise, usually caused by terrain conditions.

MONITOR:
- This feature turns off the automatic squelch feature, either momentarily or continuously. It helps in receiving signals to its maximum range, but may pick up static signals, too.

Momentary monitor:
- Press the MON button; the monitor symbol will appear.
- Release the button to restore the automatic squelch.

Continuous monitor:
- Press the MON button for more than 2 seconds until a beep sound is heard. The monitor symbol will appear.
- To restore the automatic squelch, press and release the MON button again.

NOTE: You cannot transmit when the Monitor feature is activated.

My Ranger2950 has no sound??

Have a look here for info about the Ranger 2950. This is an Amateur 10 & 12 meter transceiver that enjoy some popularity due to its ability to be modified to work on the 27Mhz Citizens Band.

Make sure the Mode is set to something other than PA. A few of the first things that come to mind is the Volume, Squelch & RF Gain settings. The Volume is straight forward - choose a setting in the middle to begin. Next, set the squelch. Most radios have the squelch open when set fully counter-clockwise. As you move the squelch to this position, sound should be heard from the speaker if a signal is present. As long as there is an antenna connected, the radio should "hear" noise. If you do not hear anything, leave the Squelch fully CCW and try varying the RF Gain fully in one direction. If you still hear nothing, set the Squelch to the fully clock-wise position. Adjust the RF Gain to the opposite direction. At this point, you should have heard something - even if just static hash. If not, the volume control may be dirty. Disconnect power and rotate the volume control back and forth several times to dislodge any dirt on the volume wiper inside the radio, and try again.

Make sure that the Ext Spk jack does not have a plug inserted as it will defeat the internal speaker. Likewise, if using an external speaker, make sure it works.

Good luck!

Bc72xlt-no audio/sound/ kids pressing buttons then no sound

The best I can tell you is try readjusting the volume and squelch again. Turn your volume up then adjust the squelch all the way one way and then all the way the other way. At one of the max settings you should get static noise. This should allow you to see if there is any noise coming out of the scanner.

If you get noise then recheck to see that the scanner is programmed correctly. If it has no frequencies or frequencies with no traffic on them, you will not hear them.

If there was no audio with the squelch then you may want to consider that there is a bigger problem. Page 53 in your manual describes how to reset your scanner. This might work as a last ditch effort. You will lose all of your current programming though.

Hope this helps
