By itself, nothing. There are an infinite number of fractions with the same numerator, and any fractional number can have an infinite number of representations, each with a different numerator.

For example, consider the numerator "2". The fraction could be 2/3, 2/4, 2/5, 2/6, 2/7, etc.

Now consider the fraction "2/3". It can also be written as 4/6, 6/9, 8/12, 10/15, 12/18, etc.

What is the improper fraction of 2/10

I think you want to reduce the fraction to the lowest terms.

Improper fraction 1 3/4 produces an improper fraction of 7/4 (1 times denominator plus numerator)

To reduce a fraction, we need to divide the numerator (number on top) and the denominator (number on the bottom) by the greatest common factor (GCF).

To get the GCF, find the factors of the numerators and denominators and find the greatest number that is in both lists.

The factors of 2 are 1, 2.

The factors of 10 are 1, 2, 5, 10.

The greatest (largest) number is both lists is 2, so we divide the numerator and denominator by 2 and get 1/5.

Good luck,

I need help with improper fractions may you please help me thanks

An improper fraction is simply a fraction with the numerator being larger than the denominator.

To make it an improper fraction from the mixed number given, just multiply the whole number (2) by the denominator (3), then add the numerator (2). The result is the new numerator and the denominator remains the same.

In this case (2 2/3), it would be 2 * 3 + 2 for the numerator....or 8. So 8/3 would be the improper fraction.

How to solve franctions

Multiplying Fractions:
  1. Make sure you're working with two fractions.
  2. Multiply numerator x numerator, then multiply denominator x denominator.
Dividing Fractions:
  1. Make sure you're working with two fractions
  2. Flip the second fraction upside down.
  3. Change the division sign into a multiplication sign.
  4. Multiply top x top and bottom x bottom.
Converting Mixed Numbers into Improper Fractions:
  1. Convert mixed numbers into improper fractions.
  2. Take the whole (non-fraction) number and multiply it by the denominator.
  3. Add that answer to the numerator.
  4. Put that amount over the original denominator and you will have an improper fraction.
Method for Adding and Subtracting Fractions:
  1. Find the lowest common denominator (bottom number). For both adding and subtracting fractions, you'll start with the same process.
  2. Multiply fractions to match the lowest common denominator.
  3. Add or subtract the two numerators (top number) but NOT the denominators.

What is an improper fraction

A proper fraction is one where the numerator is less than the denominator 1/3, 2/3,1/4, 5/9. All these values are less than 1.
Take now the fraction 17/8. This is not a proper fraction because the numerator is NOT less the denominator. The result can be written as a mixed number (2 1/8) or an improper fraction (17/8)

How to claculate the remainder of a fraction using CASIO fx-991ES?

Use the fraction conversion features of the calculator.
Near (above) the [S<>D] key that toggles display between fraction/radicals and decimals, there is a marking that reads [a b/c <=>d/c]. Accessed through the [SHIFT] key, this key converts from improper fractions [a b/c] to improper fractions [d/c].
Enter your fraction with the fraction key (the one below the CALC key) and press enter. If the numerator is less then the denominator (proper fraction) the remainder is just the numerator. If the numerator is greater than the denominator the display will show an improper fraction (d/c) or a mixed number [a b/c]. Here a is the integer part and b/c is the fraction part.
So, if you have [a b/c] type display the remainder is b.
If the result is displayed as an improper fraction, use [SHIFT][S<>D] to convert the improper fraction (d/c) to a b/c.

Yes, you do have the division key. It is the division key. However, if you want the fraction to remain a fraction, enter the numerator, press the division key, type in the denominator then Press [MATH] [1:>Frac] then press ENTER. The fraction that will be displayed will be the reduced form.
