UN55D6400UF TV Will Not Power Off If your TV is on but will not power off when you press the power button, you could be having an issue with your remote control or a faulty circuit inside your TV.
To determine the source of your problem, follow these steps:

  1. Power the TV on if it is off.
  2. Unplug the TV from the wall outlet for 30 seconds, and then plug the TV back in.

      • If the TV powers off with the remote but does not power off with the power button on the TV there could be an issue with the touch sensor on the TV. Before setting your unit up for service try these two things.
        1. Try sliding your finger accross the power button.
        2. Have other people try using the touch buttons on the TV.
        3. If either of these two options work then there is not an issue with the touch sensor on the TV. There are many variable that can limit the conductivity of a persons fingers. The conductivity of your fingers might not be enough to easily control the touch sensor on the TV.

Need remote code for Vizio D32h-CO. No remote for TV. Have Dish remote

For my universal remote control's manual, all of the VIZIO codes are:

11758
13758
12757

Also, remember that you can have the remote scan for codes on its own. On the remote just hold the "TV" control button (should be at the top near the power button) and the power button turns on. Then hold the power button too, and it shuts back off; keep holding until it turns back on and then it will stay on. Then, point the remote at the TV (it should be on) and press the power button every three seconds. It will test a code every two or three seconds. When your TV finally shuts itself off in response, you've got the right code and the remote should work.

Hi there, I've just bought a One For All remote (URC-7140) and it doesn't appear to be compatible with my Samsung TV (UE224000PW) despite trying every code in their manual!! Can anyone help??

Did it not work with the simple search as shown in the manual.
where you hold the magic button for 3 seconds till a blue mode light comes on. Use mode button to select TV. Turn your TV on with the on button your TV. Press and hold the "7" button until your TV shuts off. And release the "7" button as soon as your TV shuts off.
That should be all there is to it according to he manual.

Link to manual.

Have a jumbo remote with no code search button also only programs 3 devices tv'vcr&dvd

I had the same problem Johny. Everybody wants to tell you how to program the one with the CODE SEARCH button. Here\'s how to do the one without. Press and hold the item button you wish to program (TV, DVD etc anyone of them can be used for anything) until the LED lights and stays on. Turn the item on manually and point the remote at it and push the power button. When the gadget turns itself off, immediately press the item button again. You can recall the code by pushing the item button until the light turns on again and then press DISP. Now push the number buttons (random is OK). As you hit the correct number of the code, the LED will flash until the four digit code is entered then the LED will go off. You may wish to try for more codes as some function better than others that just simply "work".

I have a Emerson LD190EM1 Tv DVD combo. It will not work with my Dish Network remote. What is the IR code?

I also have the same tv with no luck on my dish network with the codes. However, I just did an autoscan and found the code, but it doesn't tell you what code. I am sorry I cannot give you the code, since manually entering them did not work, but the auto scan did work!

To run auto scan follow these steps.... it took me about 5 minutes to find on my dish network remote.
1. Press and hold the tv mode button until all other mode lights flash.
2. Press the red power button (not the red tv power button, but the power button which normally shuts off your receiver only)
3. Press the up button (about every other second) When your remote finds the code, your tv will automatically shut off.... once it shuts off, DO NOT press the up button again.
4. While the tv is off, press the pound (#) button.
Your remote will be programmed to your tv. Turn on your tv with the small red power button with the tv wording and test other functions (volume, etc.)

I tried this last night, waiting about 3 seconds in betwwen with no luck after 30 minutes, just a tired finger from constantly pressing the up button. But tonight I tried it on my LD190EM1 and paused for a second inbetween pressing up and almost fainted when the tv actually shut off within 5 minutes of starting! Best of Luck!!!

I have a new prestige car remote installed recently and i have a problem how to shut off the alarm coz the installer did not or forgot to give me the manual. When i start the car remotely i press the...

You did not mention the year/make/model of your vehicle but, the issue appears to be the factory alarm. The installer failed to make the connection. If you intend to make the connection yourself I would need information pertaining to the vehicle. The (-) pulse before start wire for Prestige remote starters is black with a blue stripe. It is in a 4 pin connector at the module. This wire can be used to disarm the factory alarm before the remote start sequence.

CODE FOR A JUMBO REMOTE

Use the process called code search setting it takes a bit of extra time but some codes will work for  equipment that is not listed in the manual. If for some reason this don't work the remote you purchased will not work with that brand but this is very unlikely I believe. That process is  1. Turn on device that you want to set. 2. Aim the remote at device and press and hold down the code search button for at least 3 seconds until the red led lights up solid red. 3. Press the device button for the item you wish to program E.G. tv, dvd, vcr ect. and the led will blink once and then remain solid red. 4. press on/off button on remote slowly and repeatedly until the device you are trying to program shuts off. (Note led will blink once each time you press on/off button) 5. Once this occurs, press enter button to store the code and the led light will shut off.

I want to program my remote control to work with my direct t.v.

Look in the user manual for your remote.
You should find a table with brands and types of devices.
Your direct tv should be listed as such.
There will be a number code for the direct tv that you will need to program the remote with.
The manual should also tell you what buttons to press in order to program.
Otherwise, have only the direct tv receiver ON.
point your remote at it and press the tv button and then the power button on the remote and hold it down while pressing the cursor up and down buttons. (not channel up and down. The up and down are the ones to select other things on the remote with.
When you have the right code the tv will shut off.
After it has shut off stop pushing buttons and then press the power button on the remote.
Your direct tv should now be programmed to turn on and off with the remote.
Note: be sure when you turn various devices on or off, have it selected for that devices you are trying to turn on or off.
