I have a casio TE 2200 which I bought used and have reprogrammed for my store in Canada. Everything works fine --- except when I turn the key to Z1 and hit the CA/AMT button, it just beeps at me. The X1 function works fine, but I need to reset totals every day and without the Z1 report and clearing of daily totals, I can not use the system. Can anyone help?

I've never heard of this happening.
Is the rest of the machine running in english (REG mode)?

Hi.
Unless someone has written some new software for it, then no. It cannot do it. That is not what the CF card is used for (it is used for program backups and in some cases, streaming the electronic journal). Cash registers generally do not have direct report software interfacing like you are suggesting. I have looked into it with a few brands and none can do it seamlessly. What you are asking is usually always incorporated in software POS machines, as it is a serious function which requires a data base that is compatible with the reporting software.
So, if you want it to work 100 percent with not much mucking around, then invest in a PC POS machine, not a cash register. You can get raised keyboards for them, so that's not a worry. The drawback is price, as they are the most powerful type of checkout system. You will need to spend a few thousand on one. As I said, the cash registers are catching up, so one may be able to do it properly now. In NZ where I am, we have one of the first online reporting systems available where your register uploads data to the net, and you can log in anywhere and see all the reports generated online:

This is the way Casio and Samsung are going in NZ rather than linking to software, and it is becoming very popular. You might want to see if it is available where you are.
Keep trying the different suppliers to see if any brands of register can do it, and get a demonstration before you buy.
Hope this helps

I assume in reprogramming the tax tables and various descriptors, I must have done something to not allow me to do the Z1 report.
