I have a Kenmore Elite (Frigidaire) electric range model 790.99122405. The bake and convection bake elements are only heating to about 150 degrees.

I have a Kenmore Elite (Frigidaire) range model 790.99122405. Everything works properly except the bake and convection bake elements. When either bake function is activated, the oven heats to about 150 degrees and no more. I switched the bake and broil power wires at the ECB and when I activated the broil function, the bake element then got cherry red as expected. Would this more likely be a problem with the main ECB or the power board?

Turned out the main board was bad. Replaced with a rebuilt board from Corecentric and the range works perfectly.

SOURCE: Whirlpool oven that does not broil

Nabril, looks like you have a thermal fuse in the broil circuit. Take your meter and on the control board go to connector P2-2, should be a blue wire. Pull the connector off and see if you have continuity from the blue wire to the red wire on the terminal block (where the cord connects) power off, wires off. If you don't have continuity, it's probably that fuse. If you do, the only other thing I would think it could be would be the relay itself. The schematic does not show the placement of this fuse. It could be on the back panel or under the main top. Check out the pic. Part number..3196548 Catriver..post back.

What is the complete model # from the sticker on the range? I will need that so I can look into this for you. I will say that I have seen, in several cases, where the oven control gets a surge and fries after an element has broken.

Will a plain fan convection/microwave ROAST/BAKE as well as a "true" convection that has an extra heating element and fan convection/microwave

Most likely the Kenmore is actually made by Sharp. Most of the combination microwave/convection ovens are. I have one with a "Wolf" name on it, and it roasts/bakes very well.

My Frigidaire ele. convection oven only heats up to 287 drgrees

Good Afternoon Mitchel, thank you for your inquiry!

It could mean a few things in why your range is taking a long time to reach desire temperature:

    ·Convection heating element
    ·Thermal cutout
    ·Thermal oven sensor
    ·EOC (electronic oven control)
    ·Ignitor
    ·Bake or broil element
    ·Shorted wired connections

It would be advisable for the above parts to be properly diagnosed by an expert to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts. Best regards!

It seems that the control board is faulty. You would need to get the board repaired since it is no longer available for purchase from the manufacturer. You get the board fixed from www.partsimple.com at the lowest price compare to the rest of competitors online.

Oven Not Working

It could be the element, but if neither the top or bottom element are coming on, it could be an issue with the electronics... Have you tried any of the other oven functions? Is it a convection oven? Maybe try using the convection bake or roast/convection roast functions..(roast function doesn't go through a pre-heat cycle, I have the same stove). If it's still under warranty, I would be calling for service.
