SOURCE: Help me please - Gateway FPD2185W

Ok, I have some news on this that I know you will not like, but the whole point of this site is to try and help you fix the problem, or at least, try and point you in the right direction.

The news:
I have done some extensive searching on this problem over the last month, as I have also had a friend with a similar problem that you are describing. There is a manufacturer's fault on the main power board, this has been recognised by Gateway, but as it happens inconsistantly (it may happen after a few months or a few years), they are not prepared to recall the product.

Obviously this doesn't help us as consumers that buy their products. The blue screen that you describe happens with alot of visual hardware inc. graphics cards that affects the whole market, and has now become affectionately known as The Blue Screen Of Death (BSOD).

If you are one of the lucky one's, and it is still under the manufacturer's warranty, get it sent back asap, and ask for a replacement to a similar model. If not, the only thing you can do is get it repaired or get a new/2nd-hand one.

Like I said, I'm sorry this isn't the news you wanted, but I didn't think it was fair for you to hang on.

Regards
Tim

SOURCE: I have a Samsung Plasma 4252 and i have red horizontal lines.

I have the same problem on my set. I had a repair technician out today and they wanted to replace the circuit board that the buffers are connected to and the adjacent board that drives the buffers. If you remove the back panel the buffers that are in line with the distorted areas on the screen are running super hot. Estimated price with labor was $700.

SOURCE: LCD tv Vizio 42 inch has vertical colored lines

hello imvega7, as i know, 42 inch is a plasma display TV.
Refer to your image, and my experience that symptomp because of connection between buffer PCB and panel. Some cases, dirty conection may cause this symptomp.
Un plug power cord, open rear cover, fine pcb on upper or lower panel.
unplug flat cables from pcb buffer, clean soket using a brush. And also clean flat cables using celaner or alcohol.
Wait untill that conection dry. reassembly and try it.
i hope that help you.

Why when i turn on my tv is the picture pink and negative like?

Potential causes and solutions:

High Contrast Mode:
Some TVs have a high contrast mode that can inadvertently cause the picture to appear negative or distorted.
Try this: Hold down the volume button on your Samsung TV remote and navigate to the settings related to contrast. Turn off the high contrast mode, and see if that resolves the issue.

HDMI Connection Issues:
A loose or faulty HDMI connection between your TV and an external device (such as a cable box, gaming console, or streaming device) can lead to color abnormalities.
Check the HDMI cable for damage and ensure it is securely plugged in. If necessary, try a different HDMI cable.
Additionally, an HDMI handshake failure during setup can cause color problems. Restarting both the TV and the connected device might help.

Picture Mode Settings:
Sometimes, the picture mode on your TV affects color accuracy. Modes like "Vivid" or "Dynamic" may exaggerate colors.
Switch to a more standard mode like "Standard" or "Cinema" to see if the pink tint disappears.

T-Con Board Issues (Specific to Some TVs):
If you have a Samsung TV, a polluted T-Con flat cable could be the culprit.
To address this, clean the contacts on the T-Con board using isopropyl alcohol. First, remove any dust. If unsure, consider seeking professional assistance

WD 73835 has ghosting images during dark or red scenes

Make sure your contrast isn't set too high. Most ghosting is caused by either contrast, brightness or tint issues. Try adjusting these settings. Also check if there is a Dynamic contrast setting for your TV as well as this can cause ghosting also.

Samsung tv settings

it depends on what your using it for, adjust colour tones to what you think looks natural, contrast between 80-90, keep sharpness below 30. just have a play around till you find what best suits the source material.
