Hp 2515 no paper on tray but indicating fake paper jam

Every time the jam disappears after a series of cancel and restarts, it only prints one paper then the jam is back, and if there were papers on the tray it keeps on roling removing them through the output door.

Hello,

May i know the printer model # / name ( full ) to assist you better. ?

  • Bill Bevan Mar 31, 2014

Step 1. Make sure there are no small pieces of paper left over from a previous jam. Open the top and with a flashlight, make sure there are no paper fragments, especially on the far left. Step 2: Turn the print around a remove the back cover and again, inspect for even a small piece of paper. If neither of these solve the problem, unplug the power, wait 60 secs, and plug it back in and turn it on. If still a problem, consult the printer diagnostic page at hp.com for intstructions on a hard reset and other possible causes.

SOURCE: False Paper Jam Error

Make sure the paper tray guides are set against the paper more likely to be the back guide not pushing the paper to the front of the tray. If you have the guides set correctly then place one sheet of paper in the tray and blot some methylated spirits on the leading edge along the page width and close the tray and try printing something.

You will have a jam repeat process 3 or 4 times then open tray and remove paper. Where you soaked the spirits into the paper there should be a grubby mark where the feed roller has rubbed and cleaned. Wipe the tray dry and put fresh paper in then hopefully you will now be able to print. If you cannot then the likely thing is that the paper feed pickup spindle is broken and will need replacing.

Hope this helps you and please rate me

SOURCE: hp psc 1315 paper jam

Hi,

. Switch off the printer and disconnect the power supply. Allow any residual charge inside the all-in-one printer to dissipate before putting your hands or any metal tools inside the chassis.

2.
Pin down the exact location of the jam. The 3 hot spots for a jam are before a sheet completely leaves the paper tray, anywhere between the feed tray and print carriage or between the print carriage and output tray.

3.
Take off the front paper tray if the sheet jammed while still in the front area of the printer. If here, you should be able to see most of the paper.

4.
Pull the sheet with both hands and steady pressure. Do not tug as you might rip the paper, leaving a piece deeper inside the machine.

5.
Open the back panel to reach paper jammed between the feed-tray area and print carriage. Carefully remove the jammed paper.

6.
Use the carriage access door to get at a jam further inside the printer. You may need to remove the print carriage to get to the jam.

7.
Replace all parts and return any access panels to their closed and locked positions. Plug your printer back in and flip the power switch.

SOURCE: Printing problem with HP Laserjet P2015 printer

This can be an issue with one of the faulty sensor across the printer.
Please check if you are able to print from tray 1, e.g. a configuration page.
A config page can be printed by holding the Green Button and releasing it as soon as the Triangle light comes on. This would take approx 5 secs.
If the printer is able to print from tray 1, then it could be an issue with the tray 2 pickup sensor.
Check if the tray 2 pickup sensor ( a black plastic piece to the right of the tray 2 pickup roller) is moving freely (front and back), also check if tray 2 pickup roller is not able to rotate completely.

If the tray 2 sensor is not moving freely and of the pickup roller is rotating completely, then reseat the pickup roller.

Normal use with good media causes wear resulting in the need to periodically clean or replace the pickup roller. Additionally, the use of poor media might require more frequent replacement of the pickup roller. Replacing the pickup roller Complete the following to replace the pickup roller:

CAUTION: Failure to complete this procedure might damage the printer. Unplug the power cord from the printer, and allow the printer to cool.

SOURCE: HP 4200 printer paper jam. No paper is jammed

check this out....when the printer reports the jam, open the paper tray very carefully and slowly.

Has the paper moved at all forward? Has it moved like 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch out of the tray?

If so, you probabaly need a torque limiter, no tools, $10 or so and a very very easy fix.

POBCM is very correct when he points out that the block/stop in the back of the tray moves when the tray is closed with too much force and this is the #1 cause most of the time.

You may see a "41.3" code displayed if the block is not up to the back of the paper and the paper is not all the way forward in the trays, and under the two metal clips at the front of the tray.

SOURCE: HP laserjet 5500dn paper jam at fuser

Hi,
I was able to fix my problem. On the left side of the fuser assembly there are two small plastic tabs or flags that move up & down. One is attached to the plastic rod/flap that you can see from the top of the fuser and moves when the paper comes out of the "chute". The other tab, which is below the first tab and moves when the paper has passed some point in the fuser, was broken off. I glued the tab back on and now the paper is ejected from the printer like it is suppose to.

I'm thinking that the broken tab was part of a page sensor flag that would tell the printer to stop rolling the fuser assembly when the paper was ejected. Without the flag, the sensor would disengage the fuser prematurely and stop ejecting the paper while the paper was still in the fuser.

Paper Jam

Remove all the paper from the paper tray so that nothing gets sucked up in there while you're working. Hit the cancel button a few times until the screen clears itself and goes back to the "Print", "Copy", "Scan" option screen.

On your computer, if the printer option screen is up (depending on what kind of computer you have, a small screen might pop up to tell you the print progress), hit cancel or clear on any of the lines that say "Paper jam", if there are any.

The next time you print something, only put as many pieces of paper in the feed as you need to print. This should eliminate a lot of the chance of actually getting a paper jam.

Please respond again if this didn't help. I'm not sitting in front of my own computer right now, so I might not be following the same steps that I usually take.
