My gmail comes up on a side bar and i can only drag it across about an inch so i can,t read my emails

Do what I do. Open up Gmail and in the browser address bar, grab the icon to the left of "www" and drag and drop it to the bar underneath. This places your email access up there whenever you open up your browser. Alternatively, drag and drop the same to your desktop and when you double click on it.......hey presto!

Is your screen working and can you access the web? Assuming that, go to the address bar (on top, left) and click whatever is there. It will turn blue when clicked then hit "Backspace" which will clear the address bar, leaving it blank. Then type "gmail.com" into the bar and hit "Enter". If you are connected to the internet and the machine is functioning properly, this will bring you to the Gmail Home page where you enter your user name and password.

You can enable offline mode for your Gmail account, which links it to your hard drive where it stores messages.
Not all browsers and operating systems are supported, including Safari 4 on a Mac running the Snow Leopard OS and Google Chrome on all platforms.
Also, if you have enabled the multiple account sign-in, the offline reading feature is unavailable. Multi-account sign-in is a feature that lets you stay logged in to more than one Gmail account simultaneously.
Gmail offline mode requires that you install the Google Gears plugin that handles the processing and storing of emails on your local hard drive.
Open a Web browser and sign into your Gmail account.
Click the "Gear" icon on the upper right corner of the page and select "Mail Settings."

Go to the "Offline" tab and click the "Enable Offline Mail for this computer" button.
Click the "Save Changes" button.

Click the "Allow" link when Google Gears asks for permission to access your Gmail account. Once Google Gears receives permission, it may take several minutes for the messages to be downloaded to your computer.
Click and drag the Gmail favicon on the address bar to the desktop screen.
Moving and dropping the icon creates a desktop shortcut for your Gmail account.
If you click the "Gmail" desktop icon, then it will load your Gmail account, regardless if you are online or offline.

Try using a different browser. It is either that or your bandwidth is subpar.

If you canceled or deleted you can retrieve them in most web email clients.

GMail:
If you've deleted a message permanently, by clicking Delete Forever in your Spam or Trash, it isn't possible to recover the message.
If you've moved a message to Trash, by clicking Delete, but it's been fewer than 30 days and you haven't permanently deleted it, follow these steps to put it back in your inbox:

1. Sign in to Gmail.
2. Click Trash along the left side of any Gmail page. (If you don't see Trash along the left side of your Gmail page, go to the Labels tab in Settings, then click the show link next to the Trash label.)
3. Locate the message you'd like to move to your inbox, and check the box next to the sender's name.
4. Click Move to Inbox.

Yahoo:
Of course, you can also undelete a message quickly as long as it is still in your Yahoo! Mail's Trash folder.
Undelete Mail in Yahoo! Mail To undelete a message in Yahoo! Mail or Yahoo! Mail Classic:

• Go to the Trash folder.
• Open the desired message.
• Click Move in the Yahoo! Mail toolbar.
• Select Inbox or any other folder to recover the message.
  • In Yahoo! Mail, you can also drag and drop the email to any folder, of course.

Also you can serach on Yahoo itself by look at the left upper corner you can see a search bar if you
remember some info. from the sender.

just drag the gmail icon from the address bar and drop it on your
desktop.
OR

- right click on your desktop
- click on new --> shortcut
- type "https:\\mail.google.com" (without the quotes) in the field
when it asks for the path
- click on "Next"
- type a name for the shortcut, e.g. "Gmail"
- click on "Finish"
This will open the Gmail login page in your default browser.
