If so... 253=12 ga. 3" Gran Lighting - Manufacture date 1992

Browning Date Your Gun

There are many Factors that go into valuing a Rifle, Condition, Usage, Scope, did I mention Condition? I just assisted my Uncle in selling 8 of his Rifles. He had 3 Bolt Action 30-06 and 1 Semi-Automatic. The Bolt Action are worth a little less than the Semi-Automatic. One Bolt Action was worth $125 due to wear and Camo Paint Scheme. The Best Bolt Action he sold for $475. The Semi-Automatic sold for $350, showed signs of wear and the scope was not the best...

By your serial number this is a 1968. Without knowing it's condition it's impossible to say. Does it have the engraved Deer in steel receiver, genuine walnut stock and forearm with diamond pattern cut checkering? So many things to consider. I would just take it to your local dealer and ask for a written appraisal. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

In general, a 1950s Sweet Sixteen is a valuable gun. Measure the distance from the trigger to the end of the **** stock to get the "legnth of pull" (LOP). this was 14 1/14 " when it left the factory. If it is shorter, the value will be less.

Without seeing it, although many have been altered which would bring a price $350 - $450 area.
