I get broken gear in my hp officejet pro 8500a

Someone pulled hard on jammed paper to remove it from the printer. This has broken the small plastic paper advancing gear on the left-hand side of the printer (have seen this mistake a number of times). The printer is broken and cannot be fixed, and it is time to purchase a new one. What you and everyone needs to learn from this is to NEVER pull hard to remove paper out of your printer. Be careful, and open the access doors to get to it.

We would suggest that you upgrade to an HP 8600 series printer and if you print more than 500 pages per month you purchase an AdaptiveInk continuous ink supply system (CISS). Adaptive Ink Continuous Ink Supply System Home Page Adaptive Ink HP Pigment ERC

Empty carriage stuck in my HP 7500A printer

Hello,Lester Makang
Your carriage got stuck in service station,is there any noise coming from the right side of printer then there will be broken gear.
Power on your printer, after you got carriage jam error open cartridge access door and wait 5 second when you see that gears trying to move, use your hand to pull your carriage to left side.Don't use much force. If your carriage got free then install your print head and cartridges. If this will happen again then take it to service center they will change the service station or broken gear but the cost goes much high.

Before pulling in paper printer makes a gear slipping noise. sounds like plastic gears slipping. printer works ok otherwise

One of the gear in the roller mechanism is either displaced and not in alignment with other gear wheels OR the gear blades is broken. You have to take the assistance of technician from service center to open the printer and change the part. You can not do it your self.

Brother mfc 9700 need to change toner cartridge but drum wont come off, how do i get this off safely and back on again?

If you open the door and the toner doesn't release, there may be a broken gear on the left side that releases it. The black lever on the left side of the door disengages the toner and when that doesn't pull freely the gear inside is broken and a shop needs to replace for you. If just the toner, you press the blue lever and lift the toner off of the drum.

Printer labels do not advance when print is hit

CAUSE: my guess would be a stripped gear or a lack of prssure on the "pinch wheel" which would cause a loss of traction on the paper feeder.

SOLUTION: 1- change the stripped gear (if it's stripped)
2- add a layer of adhesive tape on the loose pinch wheel (if it's loose)

both solutions require to open case (to access loose wheel or stripped gear). To determin what the probleme is, try to run a print and try to move or pull gently on the lable ribon while in function. Two possible outcomes are that the gear will only "hook" in some areas if it's stripped. If it's loose the paper will only move while pulling on it.
