Someone pulled hard on jammed paper to remove it from the printer. This has broken the small plastic paper advancing gear on the left-hand side of the printer (have seen this mistake a number of times). The printer is broken and cannot be fixed, and it is time to purchase a new one. What you and everyone needs to learn from this is to NEVER pull hard to remove paper out of your printer. Be careful, and open the access doors to get to it.
We would suggest that you upgrade to an HP 8600 series printer and if you print more than 500 pages per month you purchase an AdaptiveInk continuous ink supply system (CISS).
