Try testing a different power source then a reset procedure.

Reset procedure: While the unit is off, press and hold [VOLUME +], [OPEN/CLOSE] and [POWER] on the main unit at the same time for more than 5 seconds.

My Toshiba RDXV60 stopped working, there are no lights no sound and will not respond to the remote or to button operation.

if you want to confirm if the transformer in the power supply is also bad you have to make a voltage checking. turn on the dvd player and make a voltage checking at the output at the power supply board.

My will not work with the remote any longer. I replaced that. When I manually turn power on, it takes 3 or 4 times before coming on. Then, it will turn off after about 30 seconds. ANy ideas?

There is an infrared sensor inside the tv to receive infrared signals transmitted by the infrared signal generating light emittin diode fixed on your remote control. Either the sensor inside the tv or light emitting diode in the remote controller faulty, remote function will not work. For manual operation troubles, check the wall power socket of plug of the tv is faulty, loose contact etc.

My remote wont operate my sony TV volume

Here you go. This will work with most all universal remote controls. If you don't have the code do the following:
Automatic Programming
With automatic programming, the remote control tests all the codes available on the Code List and assigns the correct code for the selected device. Although this method can be more time-consuming, it eliminates the need to look up codes and enter them manually.

1. Turn off the device with which you want to use the remote control.

2. Press and hold the corresponding button on the remote control
(TV, VCR, SAT, DVD, CAB or AUD) until POWER INDICATOR illuminates. It should take a couple of seconds for the light to remain solid. The remote control is in programming mode.

3. Press and release power button. The POWER INDICATOR flashes once and stays on indicating the unit is in Power Scan mode.

4. Press CHANNEL up or CHANNEL down repeatedly until the device turns on.

5. When the device turns on, press OK to store the code.

Note:
• To exit without storing the code, press BACK.
• T he unit will search for the next code or the previous code if you press
CHANNEL up or CHANNEL down after the device turns on. (go slow you need to press OK when the TV turns on) if you mess up turn TV off and start over.
6. Press any other button. If the device responds, the remote control has been programmed. If the device does not respond, repeat steps 2-5.

Sony MW24FM1 either won't respond to DVD commands, or turn-off

Sounds like a bad power board. They have random meltdowns all too often. Usually the cause is an overheated transformer caused by power transistor short outs. Possibly sell it. Could get over $100 for it if sold online.
