I have a 1994 chevy surburban with a 6.5 turbo diesel and it hasnt been plug in for a few month so i was wondering what would b the easiest way to start it and what can i do to make it easier to start for...

By plugging it in I assume you mean the block heater for the engine.
I would plug it in for an hour or two before starting. also give the glow plugs plenty of time to heat up before starting. If you don,t have a garage to put it in try to find a place out of the wind and with direct sun in the day this may help some. laying an old blanket or quilt or even a tarp over the hood and front end could help some. after sitting for a prolonged period of time in cold weather hook a charger up to the battery before starting to top off the battery's charge. Hope this helps.

Hi erik
My first point of call would be to clean the spark plug, it could have gotten corroded while the bike has been standing. Hope this helps.

Hello there! I have a 1979 Harley-Davidson FXEF 1200 that isn't starting. I have replaced the battery and the spark plugs and it still won't start. Once in awhile the pistons get combustion but...

If the bike has been sitting for six months, the fuel that was in the float bowl probably evaporated. When it does this, it leaves behind a gummy substance that is actually the additives that the refineries add to the fuel for various purposes. The problem is that it has probably plugged up the jets in the carb. You need to take the carb off the engine, disassemble it completely, and soak it in professional grade carb cleaner. If you don't have the mechanical knowledge to do this, I'd suggest that you take it to someone that does. If the carb is a stock carb, it's a Keihin butterfly type carb and they can be very finnicky about the float needle setting.

Good Luck

ok a couple of things to try 1 try using starter fluid in carburetor 2 second spritz and crank does it fire or pop? if yes then there is spark, if not then pull spark plug and put new one and try again, if no then leave spark plug out of engine and lay on engine with wire connected and look for spark( do in shade to see better. if no spark then coil if bad. if it does fire on starter fluid, check gas filter and air cleaner it may be too lean or rich to fire properly.

Yamaha XVS650A will not start

have you emptied what after three months will now be stale fuel and filled with fresh also fuel has a nataural wax which adheres to internal carby parts ie jets needle &seat it may bethat the needle is stuck in the seat which wouldefectively block fuel flow int the carb this can often be remedied by simply tapping the float bowl a couple of times with lite a soft faced hamer or the handle of a screwdriver if the only hamer you have weighs 12lbs & comes with a three ft handle. failing that it will be nessecary to strip & clean the carby. It would also be advisable to check & clean the electrical conections at the fuel pump spray electrical contact cleaner is Ideal for this
