Hi i cant get any sound out of the unit from the audio part or dvd could something be unpluged i did play with some settings

TURN THE VOLUME DOWN TO A NORMAL SETTING.

Check that speakers are turned ON and then look for inadvertent selection of Mute or Tape Monitor.

I doubt any cables jumped off spontaneously from you playing with settings.

Just the same, go through all of the setup instructions before we assume a hardware problem.

If the unit appears to be malfunctioning due to power or internal issues...

Generally speaking, an amp protects itself from heat, shorts and overloads.

Overloads can be from excessive periods of high output and shorts would be wiring issues or a speaker blowing up.

You should be able to feel if it's hot. WHY is it overheating? Make sure it has sufficient ventilation on all sides and that vent holes are not blocked by dust balls. Ensure the fan (if equipped) is running as designed (some only operate on demand). Clean dust and debris from it.

If the amp comes back on after cooling, you're lucky. They only have so many self-protection cycles in their lives so continuously resetting or cycling their power without addressing the cause can do more harm than good.

If it protects immediately on a cool power up you should disconnect the speaker connections and try it 'naked'. If it comes up then diagnose which lead(s) are shorted. If it does not come up the problem is internal and should be left to an experienced hands-on tech.

HP TX1410US tablet pc won't boot; lights flicker and fan starts, then it dies. This seems to be the same as the problem that Chito30ger's appears to have solved but I can't access the video he lists, the...

This could be due to presence of static charges or internal hardware malfunction of the notebook. To isolate this issue, perform the following:

HARD RESET

To perform a hard reset, please follow the steps listed below:

1. Unplug the AC adapter from the notebook PC and remove from any port replicator or docking station.
2. Remove the battery from the notebook battery compartment.
3. Press and hold down the power button for about 20 seconds.
4. Insert the battery and plug the AC adapter back into the notebook PC.
5. Press the power button to turn the notebook PC back on.

This will discharge the static charges from the notebook. Now check for the issue. If the issue persists, then remove and reseat the memory modules of the notebook by referring the service manual provided below. The manual is a PDF file.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c00853874.pdf

Refer page no: 43 & 44
NOTE: PDF manuals require the Adobe Acrobat Reader for viewing and printing.
Incase, if the issue persists, then it is clear that the issue is due to internal hardware malfunction of the notebook and requires onsite diagnosis.
