Chances are that if the door will not open or close when you press the button, you have a broken belt inside the unit. There is a small motor that has a belt on it that opens and closes the door. This belt needs to be replaced. Easy fix if you kn ow a little about electronics and can find the part. I just opened one up for a friend and the small belt was broken. Otherwise it looks like a decent unit.

Unfortunatly the mechanism is jammed up for one reason or the other reason #1 a cd is stuck inside #2 the gear just wore out and or it was forced closed by hand instead of pushing the eject/load button..you can try to gently pry this door open while pressing open/eject button that works 40% of the time..if it does not work? it can then be deemed broken out of order.

it's worth a shot trying to pry it open but beware this could either work or really destroy the door/mech/player comes down to this "do you feel lucky" sadly? that's where we're at with this one.

I agree...do you feel lucky is where this is at

My Marantz CD 53 CDplayer door is not opening. what is the solution

You probably have a broken belt on the cd tray so it's neither open or closed, if the laser's ok thats why it wont play

CD player door not opening

The gears are jammed, or the timing gear is out of sync, and possibily a bad loading belt.

CD jammed inside player

Remover the player's cover. That will give you access to the player's internals and therefore also the CDs. That is the only way to go about a problem like the one you are facing.

Disconnect the player from the mains supply before doing this.

Good luck.

Jammed tray

Hi there, had a similar problem.
This unit is easy to open. the four screws on the sides and two i think on the back. When it is open you will have access to the discs in the machine. the last disc will probably be jammed between the facia and the caddy and will be impeding the carousel mechanism, once removed you should check the functions starting with eject, and again to cycle, load disc position 1 insert disc and check. this player i think rotated the disc on loading to a set position, would have to open one to check. hopefully the carousel is not out of sync and all is well.

CD drawer stuck, then won't close

1. Most of the player drawer fixed over the chasis for a rigid support
2. try to remove the drawer safely without damagind the chasis and drive mechanism
3. there might be some shaft jam.
4. Look for the thread. how does the player drawer moves in and out
5. there may be some sensors to sense the door close/open. if it is jammed then open/close function cannot be done. why because this problem occurs
6. unwear the mechanism read the mechanism moving technique. see which has got jammed.
7. if you feel too risky then
8.contact service centre... all the best
