It is a closed system, which normally they don't require recharge. It can be done but it is more or equal expense as buying a new unit. A lot of times a real good cleaning by someone who knows how to do it properly is all that is needed in cases such as yours.
Hi Maharba,
I think you need to have the unit recharged with the correct gas. Have the experts carry out the job and have them check for leakage before recharging the unit.

If its not charging the battery with the 12 volt cigarette cord, the meter will say full even though the battery is dead. This is a common problem with GPS Units with the USB as a charging port. If the GPS Unit is still under warranty, i would send it back to magellan or whereever you bought it, the sooner the better. I believe that you GPS is defective or in need of repair. Hope this helps.
Hi
you have lens unit defective. your local repair shop would charge around $75 to 135 depend on what they really want to charge.
Thanks and best regard!
Hello, You are doing it right! the battery should be charged with in the 24 hour period. There are two things to consider :
One, is the possibility that the rechargeable battery has dried(due to wear and tear)and is not accepting the charge or The second possibility is that the power supply isn't working properly, therefore, not charging the battery.
It is possible to know at least if one of the two is working just by operating the DVD player while connected with the AC adapter. Turn the DVD on and play a disc, if the unit operates, this eliminates a defective power supply and only leaves a defective battery pack, if it doesn't work than consider the power supply defective and repairs are due. As to where to buy a replacement part is for someone else to answer. Good luck!
Either your flash unit is defective and needs to be replaced, or the mainboard is defective and causing the flash to not work. The only way to know is to start with the flash and replace it, if that doesnt work its the main PCB.

You hit exactly on the head with don't move the unit when plugged in - there are many people with the MS-1036 having this problem if you search the web.
MSI does cover the bare-bone itself, however this falls into that damaged not defective area.
Many shops would replace the entire board, making it costly as looks you had done once already.
Good idea is to look to Asus 17" bare-bone and move your items over, much better made.
Citrus Micro - see you worked with them, so have I, always had good luck with them, they make great contact and sometimes too honest, prices are great to - like any etail store with returns, manufacturer warranty tells most etail stores how they are to handle things.
Could be why you see them getting rid of selling MSI products?
Looks like you found the best idea, take to walk in repair shop - hard to beat that or again, buy new bare-bone.
