On Kindle Paperwhite, I delete books after reading, but they still appear on the lst in shadow. I wnat them gone, too many books on this device right now to scroll through. How do I make them go away?

I have a lot of books downloaded to Kindle. After reading, I delete them, but they still appear in shadow/light font on my lists. I want to remove them permanently, so I don't have to keep scrolling past books I've finished. How can I do that?

It is kind of hard to find. Go into the Astro program and you will find a folder called download. I think it is there

I guess you're trying to eject the Kindle from the task bar "(safely remove hardware". Try going into Start/Computer/right click on Kindle/ select eject. This worked for me when I had the same problem.

Yes, the font can be made larger. The largest font on the kindle will display only a couple words per page, alot larger than your average book!

If you bought the book on the kindle store you can redownload it again by going back into the store and finding the book. It should allow you to redownload it again for free

I have a gen. 2 Kindle Paperwhite that is locked in sleep mode. Is there a way to unlock this without losing all the data?

The paperwhite is only for reading books. As to the books you never lose them unless you go to your online kindle account and delete them from there. All info on your reader is also stored in the cloud.
To do the reset press and hold the start button for 20-30 seconds. Release, you will see some flashing which is normal. Then you will see the load bar. Just leave it until it settles down. You should be able to access you books after that.

very simply, you access the Kindle devices "Settings" page and in the section that says register/deregister, you would click on the deregister option, once the device is online with the built-in wireless network connection. After which, the device is ready to be registered to a new account.
Please be aware that just changing the devices account registration does NOT delete any content; also changing registration does not provide the new owner the legal access to the books already downloaded to your Kindle, the original account that purchased the books, will retain ownership.
There is no way to give your purchased book library to the new owner of your old Kindle. If the new owner likes the books, then they will have to buy them on their own, to retain future downloading rights.

How do i delete books

I think the new update on the kindle has it to where you have to login to your kindle account on Amazon, and remove it from your device that way. It is not taking up any space on your kindle now' it may just be the book cover, but login to your amazon account and remove that book from your selected Kindle.
