Try copying the contents of your cd to a folder on your computer. Then run from there. Remember to delete the folder after that to save space. Sometimes a computer cannot read the cd properly, but usually copying to the computer solves the problem.

The MSI files are located at the following locations:

1. Browse the CD. Go to the Setup folder. Go to the DocProc folder. Double-click Docproc.msi to install.
2. Browse the CD. Go to the Setup folder. Go to Qfolder . Double-click Qfolder.msi to install.

REMOVE ALL CABLES OF PRINTER (USB)
REBOOT YOUR SYSTEM
HAVE DRIVER CD
PUT IT IN ROM(CD/DVD)
INSTALL PRINTER SOFTWARE
DONOT PLUG THE USB CABLE UNLESS & UNTILL PROMPTED
PLUG USB WHEN ASKED
FINISH INSTALLING PRINTER
NOW YOU CAN FIND THE SCANNER

I had the same problem and solved it. I was using HP Solution Centre to run my HP Scanjet 5590 on Windows 7 Pro 64 bit without problems. Then I ran the scanner using Windows Fax and Scan, but didn't like it, so went back to HP Solution Centre - whereupon the scanner was not recognised.
After hours of reinstalling software etc etc, without success, I suddenly noticed four device icons on the left hand side of HP Solution Centre. These were labelled (when hovered over with the mouse) hp scanjet 5590, hp scanjet 5590 #2, hp scanjet 5590 #3, hp scanjet 5590 #4. Only the top icon was active, but when I clicked on any of the four it moved to the top.
Clicking on hp scanjet 5590 #2 gave me a working installation once more - problem solved. No doubt the multiple icons arose from my desperate attempts to try different USB ports.

Try rebooting the computer. If that doesn't help, Reinstall Macromedia Projector and then reboot the computer. It should almost definitely work after that.

uninstall and remove all the icons from your PC first than reinstall the driver from CD and run complete setup it works.
