Security code I enter my 5 digit code but it stops on the last digit and the last digit just sits there and flashes. pushing enter or menu does nothing

First, open fob and make sure battery is making good contact and no corrosion on contacts.

Also, you might need a new fob battery.

Finally, if you know the security code, you can disable the security system.

DO NOT sit on seat, lift bike off kick stand, or anything else that will activate the security mode!

Turn IGN to IGNITION.

Quickly (within 2 seconds) hold BOTH turn signal switches until confirmation signal (KEY icon flashes at fast rate, in odometer window, a flashing "-" will be followed by 4 more dashes = "----")

Enter 1st digit (a) in PIN by pressing LEFT turn signal switch (a) times (i.e., 5 times for the number 5)
The 1st "-" will become the 1st digit (i.e., "5")

Press RIGHT switch signal 1 TIME.
The 1st digit is stored and the dash will flash.

Enter 2nd digit (b), and repeat sequence until done.

After the 5th digit is entered, the KEY icon stops blinking, and the system is disarmed.

The system will stay off until the IGN switch is turned off.

If at any time during disarming sequence an error is made, wait 2 minutes before trying again.

The setup Security Code can be done when the
<Demonstration mode Setting> (page 50) is set as OFF.
• When the Security Code function is activated, the code
can’t be changed and the function can’t be released.
Note, the Security Code can be set as the 4 digit number
of your choice.
1 Enter Standby
Press the [SRC] button.
Select the "STANDBY" display.
2 Enter Menu mode
Press the [MENU] button for at least 1 second.
When "Menu" is displayed, "Security" is displayed.
3 Enter Security Code mode
Press the Control knob for at least 1 second.
When "Enter" is displayed, "Security" is displayed.
4 Select the digits to enter
Push the Control knob to [4] or [¢].
5 Select the Security Code numbers
Push the Control knob to [FM] or [AM].
6 Repeat steps 4 and 5, and complete the
Security Code.
7 Confirm the Security Code
Press the Control knob for at least 3 seconds.
When "Re-Enter" is displayed, "Security" is
displayed.
8 Do the step 4 through 7 operation, and
reenter the Security Code.
"Approved" is displayed.
The Security Code function activates.
• When the wrong Code is entered in steps 4 through 6,
repeat from step 4.
Press the Reset button and when it’s removed
from the battery power source
1 Turn the power ON.
2 Do the step 4 through 7 operation, and enter
the Security Code.
"Approved" is displayed.
The unit can be used.
In Standby mode
Touch Sensor Tone
Setting the operation check sound (beep sound)
ON/OFF.
Display Setting
"Beep : ON" Beep is heard.
"Beep : OFF" Beep canceled.

• This adjustment can be done when the <Synchronize
Clock> (page 43) is set as OFF.
1 Select Clock Adjustment mode
Push the Control knob to [FM] or [AM].
Select the "Clock Adjust" display.
2 Enter Clock Adjust mode
Press the Control knob for at least 1 second.
The clock display blinks.
3 Adjust the hours
Push the Control knob to [FM] or [AM].
Adjust the minutes
Push the Control knob to [4] or [¢].
4 Exit Clock adjustment mode
Press the [MENU] button.

If you do not know the security code, you can reset it to your own choosing.
With the fob present, turn IGN switch:
IGNITION-OFF-IGNITION-OFF-IGNITION
Press LEFT turn signal switch 3 TIMES
Press RIGHT turn signal switch 1 TIME and release
Turn signals will flash 3 times. Current PIN will appear in odometer. The first digit will be flashing.

If changing PIN, enter first digit (a) of new PIN by pressing LEFT signal switch (a) time(s) i.e., for the number 1, press one time. for the number 5, press 5 times.

Press RIGHT signal switch 1 TIME and release.
the new digit (a) will replace the current in odometer window.

Enter second digit (b) with LEFT signal switch.

Repeat until PIN is set.

Once PIN is set (either new or old PIN), to disarm security system, DO NOT sit on seat, lift bike off kick stand, or anything else that will activate the security mode!

BUT, to get it to the dealership, you can bypass the fob IF you know the security code.

7.7 Security

The Security menu allows you to

secure the phone electronically.

1. Open the flip and press

[MENU]

2. Press Settings & Tools.

3. Press Phone Settings.

4. Press Security.

5. Enter the four-digit lock code.

The lock code is the last 4 digits

of your mobile phone number if

it is set. The lock code is the last

4 digits of your MEID if your
mobile phone number is not set.

1 Enter the number you think is your 4-digit unlock code. Do it once slowly, so you don't waste the number of tries you're allowed before the cam completely locks. If you never set a code, try 1234. The factory sets this as the default. If that fails, try the last four digits of your home phone number. That's the default of some network providers. If all these fail, go to Step 2.

2 Click the menu key, which has horizontal lines on it. It sits between the left and right soft keys and above the round 5-way navigation keys. You should now see the unlock code bypass screen. Enter your 6-digit security code. Select "OK." If this doesn't work or you don't remember your security code, go to Step 3.

Try 000000 as the factory default setting for the security code. If that doesn't work, go to Step 4.

4 Call your network's customer service center. Locked ones usually let you call both customer service and 911. However, calling on a separate phone will make entering the code they give you easier to enter and test while they're still on the phone with you.

Steps to Reset Settings
This resets the phone to factory default settings.

1. With the flip open, press the OK key [Menu].
2. Press 9 or Settings & Tools.
3. Press 6 or Phone Settings.
4. Press 7 or Security.
5. Enter lock code. The default lock code is the last 4 digits of your phone number.
6. Press 5 or Reset Default.
7. Press OK after reading the warning message.
8. Select Revert by pressing OK. A confirmation message is displayed briefly before the phone resets itself.

Steps to Restore Phone
This erases all user data and contact information entered in phone memory.

1. With the flip open, press the OK key [Menu].
2. Press 9 or Settings & Tools.

4. Press 7 or Security.

6. Press 6 or Restore Phone.

If you have a factory security system with the sensors located inside the key fobs you probably need to replace your fob battery.
