I don't think this looks like any camera. But I know you can use this on a digital camera. If the 565EX stops after 11 flashes, it could be it is warm. It could be the overheat sensor is a little bit to quick to respond. There also could be a problem with your batteries. If they run low in a short time, they cant deliver enough power to charge the Flash. Try new batteries and be sure you charge them correct. Using an old charger with new (high capacity) rechargable batteries, is asking for trouble, because the old chargers can't charge modern batteries to full capacity.
You should turn auto-focus off and manually focus on your subject. Actually you should really turn off all automatic functions and set the camera up manually for best results.
