I need an instuction manual for overlocker model 634D

Look in the instruction book, or on the threading diagram printed on the machine. You will see it when you open the panel on the right (the door that swings down when you thread the serger).

there's a good you tube video and threading an overlocker

it sounds like the machine isn't threaded correctly, start again and see how you go

Seriously,after a freindspent a lot of time trying to thread the 634D,and she knows overlockers,I'm convinced its a waste of time,despite the fact that it is fixable and still in good working order,I have seen how uncomplicated her singer overlocker is and much easier to use in every way, So I have resolved to buy one, which means my problem with the 634D is solved..Thank you anyway.. Helen...

You may need to purchase a Gathering Attachment

BUT be sure it is suitable for your model first
(I am unsure which one you have)

Thread tensions are set at manufacture to all = 3 for standard work, your manual is generally helpful for many answers.

The "Janome Overlocker Sewing Guide" is a very detailed publication and has this to say about Gathering without any additional attachment.
