You could have a faulty charging circuit or a faulty battery. Recharagable batteries have a finite amount of charge and discharge cycles and their capacity also diminishes over time especially if the battery is more than 2 years old. Test the battery in another laptop, if you get the same results then the battery needs replacing.

Not charging Acer Aspire 5732z, now won't turn on!

If it does not work with the Charger while the battery is out then I would say either your charger is bad, the dc power jack where the charger plugs into the laptop is bad or you've got motherboard issues. Does the charger have a light on it to indicate that it is on when plugged in the wall? Do you see any lights when you plug the charger into the laptop?

Take an ink pen and see if the little pin inside the computer where the charger plugs is loose and moves a bit. If so that is probably your problem. If the pin is tight and the charger works, then you've got motherboard issues.

How to revive old Ni.Cad and Ni-Mh batteries.

Hello,

This is a hit or miss procedure so do it at your own risk. It sometimes happens that your above mentioned batteries go dead and your charger doesnot recognize them and shows an open circuit or similar. to reveive these batteries you will need a 12v Lead acid battery. connect the -ve terminal to the -ve and +ve to the +ve for approx 6-10 secs to each cell individually the cells should be warm to the touch and not hot. At this pint you should connect them to your charger and it should start charging them. most of the time it works but it is not foolproof method.

Is the AC Power adapter the original adapter of the laptop? If it is, try to drain the battery and charge it for 8-12 hours without using or opening the laptop just charge it. After charging, remove the power adapter as you open your laptop. Make this way a habbit of using and charging your laptop to make the charging and battery life last long.

Hi sir i have lenovo 3000 y410, i face problem is that my laptop did not charged during power on condition ,but it's only charge in power off condition. So, pls solve my problem.

Hello Maitrikshah1,

I propose two solutions:-
1) Try to use any other charger and see what happens
2) Try to use the second battery and see what happens
3) Unplug the battery and connect the charger and see what happens.

Please update with your findings!

Battery Not Identified.

hello

I suggest you a few steps to solve your problem.
  • remove the charger and press the power button till all residue power is radiated.
  • then connect the charger and charge the battery fully and try booting the system.
  • if this don't work check the output of your charger and see if it is working fine.
  • if it is working fine then remove the battery and connect the charger and try starting the system.
  • if it works then there are two things possible.
  1. battery gone.
  2. IC responsible for charging is gone.
i hope you can figure out the problem through this.

Thank you
