I tried to make a minecraft server and I didn't know my netopia 2000 routers username and password so I got a pen and reset my router after the internet light turned red and I keep turning it on and off but it's still red and my internet does not work at all someone please help

best solution is to reset the router to default settings:

In order to do that use a pen or paper clip to push the reset button for around 30 seconds.

On the back it has a reset button (you may press it with a paperclip). Check the manual for how long you have to keep pressing it restore factory defaults and what will these be exactly (usually admin/password or no password at all).

If you are talking about the password to change the router settings you will need to do a hard reset or try the already default username and password below, but be aware that it will take you back to factory settings.
Get a pen or a straighted paper clip and with the router still powered on, hold that tiny reset button for a bout 30 seconds, then unplug the router and plug it back in. This will set it back to factory defaults and you will need a cabled connection to reconfigure the router. If it ask for your username and password, use these
Username: admin Password: admin

In order to get your router back to the original settings, you must push in the reset button (usually on the back of the router) for somewhere between 10 and 30 seconds depending on the router. You may need a pin or something small to push in the button, because it can be recessed. Once you have reset the router, the username and password will be changed to the defaults, admin and password, respectively. One thing you must remember is that resetting the router will change all of the router settings back to the factory settings. This means you will lose all of the changes you made since you got the router. Make sure to write down any things you've changed, so you can change them back after the reset. Also, I recommend updating to the latest firmware after the reset.

To Factory reset your router you need to locate the Reset Button at the back of the router. The Reset Button is the small hole at the back and you need a Pen or a Paperclip to press it. Press and hold the reset button for 15-30 seconds. Make sure that the router is on when you reset it.

To access the router page just open a browser then type 192.168.0.1. the username is admin and the password is blank.

Theres alot of differnet things i could ask you, but im going to assume you're jsut setting up a basic VPN. That means that somebody is telecommuting to work and wants to hit the server at work.

That means you have a static ip at work, and your at home workers has whatever, a internet connection lets say. Im thinking DSL with ATT since its a netopia 3347N.

If the netopia has a gui interface, you cant vpn thru it. Its not a VPN router. Its a residential router that you're trying to make do too much.

The sad news is, you can't upgrade it to an Enterprise having firmware router anymore, netopia use to offer that, but when Motorolla bought them out last year, they did away with that nice little feature. For true VPN'ing with a router, first, go get a VPN router to start with.

Most people accomplish what you are doing by putting the netopia in to bridegemode, and then putting a VPN router like a linksys behind it.

Get the user manual to verify how to make a master reset on your router. There should be a small button inside a very little hole, on the back, that you should press with a pen.

on the back panel you will find reset button. press and hold for 20sec. So your router will get back defaul settings.

If your talking about the password for the router user interface that is not working that resetting it again using a pen or a paper clip just press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds then that should bring your router to its default settings with the default username and password.
