Temperature too warm or too COLD.

I have GDM49 cooler and recently it became so cold that bottles broke and made mess so we adjusted thermostat but then it became too warm. Ever since that we are trying to make it so it maintains temp at certain degrees but it becomes too cold or too warm at very slightest turn I mean like couple of hailines. What could be wrong here? thank you

SOURCE: compressor runs bypassed thermostat with wire that

If you have just turned it on it takes awhile for the fans to come on. The evaporator coil has to get cold about (10 to 20 degrees) and make a klixion fan switch to turn the fans ON.... Is the evaporator coils getting a frost pattern on them??? If not then the system may be low of Freon.. If the coil is completely froze up and you are getting frost back to the compressor..... then you have a bad fan switch or a door switch.... If you have a wiring diagram you can trace out the wiring.... It is usually down by the compressor or control panel... hope this helps.

How do i set temperature

Most fridges have only a plastic dial located somewhere in the rear of the food space inside the fridge that simply says "cooler" or "warmer" Turn this dial to change the temperature. If you want to know what the temperature is you will have to put a thermometer inside the fridge for a few minutes , open the door, and quick read the temp before the thermometer warms up. I keep a cheap thermometer with a large dial with a red indicator inside my freezer all the time and that way I can see how cold it is every time I open the freezer.

Doesn't stop running but is very cold

the cold control is probably stuck closed. if you have a meter, you could pull the control out to check continuity. if nothing else throw in a thermometer, standard freezer temperature is +5 to -5 degrees F.

Temperature adjust frigidaire ffu2065fw2

Hello Ron Thacker - Often when the temperature is too cold, it is because the temperature control is set too cold/high. Turn the control to a warmer setting and allow several hours for the temperature to stabilize. If the unit does not stabilize within 24 hours, then it could possibly have a faulty thermostat or temperature control. I would personally reach out to an experienced tech that will be able to identify the precise reason.

Upright Freezer not cold enough

Honestly it sounds as if you have a sealed system issue, most likely low on freon.

The freezer is not getting cold. Recently, I replaced the fan motor and it is running and blowing good. I turned the temperature alarm setting to the off position because it will sound due to the warm...

I would replace the defrost termination thermostat. They were a frequent failure item on
Frigidaire units I service, causing this condition. Around 8 to 20 dollars depending on
vendor. Also check the defrost timer as I have found at least one that was stuck due to
mis assembly. (the replacements are from a different vendor). Hope this helps.

Temperature

If this unit has a control it would be located on the outer left side in the lower right hand corner. There would be a dial, the higher the number the cooler the temperature. Many of these chest freezers did not have an adjustable control.

Freezer is not cold enough.

Turning it to the right will make it colder. It will only regulate the temp. by few degrees, so if your thinking there will be a big change there won't be.

Fridge freezer

Check your settings for the temperature controls. Freezer may be set to warm (IE #1) set it mid point. Also set the refrigerator at mid point and go from there to adjust each to maintain the temperature balances.

Not Freezing, but cold

The thermostat should be a close circuit when requesting cold temps. or when asking the compressor to come on. The exterior surface on some freezers warm when asking for cold inside. Yours has a condenser coil on the back and that should warm when cooling. If compressor is runningit should be wrm if no freon has leaked from freezer somewhere.
The defrost timer should rotate clockwise during the day and give approx. 3 defrost daily or about every 8 hours. Until the thermostat is resolved and asks for a closed circuit the compressor will not come on. Unplug freezer from outlet, remove thermostat wires, then turn the thermostat to its coldest setting and check again. If no closed circuit the thermostat will need replaced first. Hope this has helped you, Sea Breeze
