Much more info needed if anyone is to give suggestions. Do you mean memory as in the RAM of the system or a memory accessory such as a thumb drive?
Does this happen before the Operating System starts or after? If this is happening while the BIOS is loading try unplugging all accessories except the keyboard. If it hangs at the same time as earlier then take out your RAM and reinstalling it if you think this problem has to do with the memory.
Good luck

Welcome to the world of Windows 7. Don't you miss Windows XP? LOL, Windows 7 is a nightmare just like Vista.

Anyway I think it's your Memory. You mentioned moving the memory chips around, but you didn't mention trying one at a time. I think one of them is bad.

Memory ChipRemove the Power Cord, Open the Case and remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.Try just working with one of them in Slot 1 and swap them out in just Slot 1.

Oh, I just thought of something else, Maybe you have bad Capacitors on the motherboard. Remove the Power Cord, Remove the Case. Take a flash light and look inside the computer at the capacitors. They look like little Battery Towers. If any of them are spewing corrosion out of them, they can cause the computer to go crazy just like yours is doing.

I have a Dell Optiplex 320 running Windows XP SP2. If I plug in the QS6000 Plus USB Scanner it hangs while booting up. If I wait until Windows has started and plug in the scanner everything works. I have...

Most probably you have only one slot of RAM (a 256MB) if so you will need to upgrade it to more such as 1GB of RAM, the problem seems to be that the OS needs more Random Access Memory to connect with your Scanners drivers and make them part of the system such that you can be able to use it when you log in this becomes a problem as with limited Memory the OS fails to read the drivers and linking the scanner gets interrupted thus hanging on startup as it has other processes using the RAM at the same time and thus sharing it with the Scanner drivers and configurations. After other programs and processes have finished to run and minimal background processes are left after logon then this means more RAM is available so the Scanner can work easily when plugged at this point.

"keyboard error or no keyboard" at startup

1) Plug in the keyboard again.
2) If you have a USB keyboard change the slot.
3) If that doesnt work, change the keyborad.

Hangs

You might check and see if this unit has a battery backup inside the electronic head unit and the battery may be dying and need replaced . It may have this to retain memory of recent setting options!! I'm a drummer and i know i had to replace my battery once for loss of memory and deteriated sound !! Good Luck swampratt200

After reformatting my fujitsu lifebook n5010 it doesnt read it.

Is the card reader built into the computer?
I know there are a few card readers out there having trouble reading 2 gig memory cards if the computer or card reader was built over 5 years ago.
If you have a data cable for your phone and software for the phone, your computer should be able to read it that way.

Help with motherboard

The keyboard should work, unless it is a usb keyboard, the drivers have not had chance to load because you are still in basic dos. Try a PS2 keyboard if this is the case.
