Unable to check cartridge ink level on new computer.

Computer Compaq PC equipped with Windows Vista 2007.
HP Printer 6310. HP Software disc for Vista installed.
Cannot find a tool box to check ink level in this Software.
How do I correct the problem?
Everything was fine when using the HP 6310 on previous computer
equipped with Windows XP Professional and HP Software disc
for Windows XP was installed.
I would like to know if the HP software disc for Vista has the same
functions as the software disc for Windows XP Professional. If they do
not, then that is probably lthe problem.

How do I check ink levels on my HP deskjet D4160 Printer

When your printer was installed, it came with a CD with a complete software package for your printer to report (ink levels/diagnostics/etc) to the computer. If it was installed in Windows 7 (and below) it would be found at "Start" (button) > "HP" > Deskjet D4160 > Deskjet D4160. In Windows 8 look for HP. Once you've opened the application it will query the printer for its status. One of the icons will show the "Estimated Ink Levels".

If you can't find the software installed or the CD you can find it at HP's (US-English) support page for your D4160 is at the link below. Persons from other countries you can find their language at HP.com/support. There you can find everything you need.

Ink Jet Notes:
·Printers can be set to "economy" (default or individual job) to save ink if high quality is not an issue.
·Follow the user's manual or print using all cartridges at least monthly to insure the cartridge jets do not get fouled with dried up ink. Once fouled its toast. I've never been able to clean one.
·New printers come with minimal ink in the cartridges.
·"XL" (high volume) versions of your printers ink cartridge is cost effective if you print frequently.

Hp All in one 6310 Unable to Scan no computer connection

In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer ONLY WHEN PROMPTED, to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels.
Activate head cleaning before a test is taken. Use the priint to calibrate the scanner and check if detected. If not there is issues on the motherboard.

How i check the cartage level, i am unable to doo that, plz help me...if have to any command direct to see ..please let u inform me..My printer is HP Clour Laser Jet 1600 ...

Check ink levels Use one of the following methods to check the ink levels. NOTE: If you have installed a refilled or remanufactured print cartridge or a cartridge that has been used in another printer, the ink level indicator will be inaccurate or unavailable. Method one: Use HP Solution Center to check ink levels HP Solution Center is software that acts as a centralized point of access for tasks such as scanning, printing, and copying. The software is part of the software package that comes with your product. When you perform a standard installation of the HP software, HP Solution Center is automatically installed. You must have the full-feature print driver, which includes HP Solution Center, installed to use this method. If you do not have the full-feature print driver installed on your computer, you can install it now. Alternatively, you can use 'Method two: Check ink levels from the software program' to check the ink levels. Click this link (c02463264) (in English) to see instructions for installing the full-feature print driver and HP Solution Center.
  1. Open HP Solution Center.
    • Windows XP : On the Windows taskbar, click Start , click All Programs , point to HP , and then click HP Solution Center .
    • Windows Vista : On the Windows taskbar, click the Windows icon (c01364735.gif), click All Programs , click HP , and then click HP Solution Center .
    • Windows 7 : Click the Windows icon (c01364735.gif ), click Programs , click HP, and then click HP Solution Center .
  2. Click Settings , and then click Printer Toolbox .
  3. Click the Device Services tab, and then click the Estimated Ink Levels tab.

Checking ink levelsUse one of the following methods to check the ink levels. Method one: Check the ink levels from the HP All-in-One The ink level is displayed on the main screen of the control panel display. Locate the two icons that represent the print cartridges. The icon on the left is for the color cartridge and the icon on the right is for the black cartridge.
  • The exclamation mark (! ) symbol indicates a low ink level.
  • The question mark (? ) symbol indicates the product cannot determine the status of the print cartridge. This might be because the cartridge is refilled.

I have an HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One printer. I

Open the HP Photosmart Software on a Windows computer
1. Do one of the following:
– On the Windows desktop, double-click the HP Solution Center icon.
– In the system tray at the far right of the Windows taskbar, double-click the
HP Digital Imaging Monitor icon.
– On the taskbar, click Start, point to Programs or All Programs, select HP,
and then click HP Solution Center.
2. If you have more than one HP device installed, select the HP All-in-One tab.
Note On a Windows computer, the features available in the HP Solution
Center vary depending on the devices you have installed. The HP Solution
Center is customized to display icons associated with the selected device. If
the selected device is not equipped with a particular feature, then the icon for
that feature does not display in the HP Solution Center.

From here, you can scan, make copies, and perform maintenance procedures such as checking the ink levels for the print cartridges.

Reset ink level on hp 6310 #98 cartridge I have been using refilled cartridges and the in level is ''empty'' even when the cartridge is new and just filled. how can I reset the ink level?

if you are using a refilled catridge you would not get ink levels right.
if you want right ink level use genuine ink catridges.
you can try taking out the catridges turning off the printer and turning it back on and then reinstalling the catridges.it might not help so if possible buy hp ink catridges.

Can't find tool box to check ink level - HP 6310 using Vista 2007

doesnt matter most printers have a feature of their own to check ink levels.
press the setup button on the printer and scroll down(with the arrow buttons) till you get tools press ok and now scroll through until you get ink level and select it by pressing the ok button, walla you should have your ink levels in front of you.

Now about the hp solution centre/hp director icon on your desktop (if you have installed the software).
Click on settings and click on printer toolbox and now check your estimated ink levels it will show the ink levels of the printer cartridges.
