I have replaced the plate, replaced the lamp and condensor. I turn it on and it tells me to replace the plate. I pushed the reset button, turned it off, waited, turned it back on. When I push the air purifier button, or the sanitizer button, the "replace plate" pops back up. So every time I reset and turn off and turn back on.. only the fan is running. Does the sanitizer and air purifier automatically come on when I turn it back on? When I push those buttons, they both say "sanitizer on", but the replace plate comes on also. This is a nightmare
Have you unplugged it? Or is there a hard reset for it other than the reset button? Can you try to hold the power button down and see if that does anything? But try to pull the filter and stuff out again, after you have unplugged it, see if that works.
did you ever solve this issue? I just borrowed my mom's and it worked fine for two days and then suddenly won't turn on at all. I wonder if there is a fuse that might have blown during a power surge while we were out of town or something...
Any help would be appreciated.

Hopefully, this is a very simple fix!
1) On the front of the machine, in between the manual controls on the right side, there is a tiny button that says "reset." While the machine is running, push that button. Then turn the machine OFF completely and leave it for a minute or two. Reactivate the machine, and the "new plate" message should disappear. This is most often the problem.
2) If it still doesn't disappear, it may mean that the plate is probably not inserted correctly. Unplug the machine. Remove the back guard and screen. Make sure the plate is fully inserted in the little grooves, both top and bottom, and that the pressure fingers are pressing firmly on the screen portion on both sides. Reassemble the machine and the problem should be resolved.
3) Last possiblity, if #2 doesn't work: The plate may be broken or corrupted in some way. Inspect it carefully for any cracks, broken screen, loose mucilage, discoloration, scorching, etc. If you find anything wrong, it must be replaced by a new one. If nothing looks broken, wash it in 1:1 solution of PLAIN ammonia/water, scrub with soft toothbrush or veggie brush, rinse well, blow dry. DO NOT USE any cloth or paper to dry it! Avoid touching the screen with fingers. Reinsert and try the machine.
4) If the readout still does not respond and change, you'll need help from Vollara (EcoQuest new name) customer service 800-989-2299.
The common things to check are the fuse, and make sure the filter tab is making a connection to the safety switch. You can find the fuse and the filter tab on the back of the purifier. Hope this helps.
I've seen several like that and found the wire connections corroded off. Easy to fix if that's the case. Make sure the unit is UNplugged before taking it apart.
That corrosion is oxidation for the lug connecting the grid plate.Metal contact fingers make contact on the plates metal grids. The same corrosion exists on those metal contact fingers and the plate itself. Clean the fingers, ensure good connections as the other wire connector spade for the other contact finger is probably compromised. You might de-oxidize the plate by soaking in pure white ammonia. At any rate,I agree about the quality of the machines and you might be faced with a small parts order from eco-quest.Do include the plate, a bulb and the bulb starter. I run 5 of these in a commercial setting and they are fairly enjoyable to work on.
I can give you some possibilities. A loose connection, a broken or corroded wire and/or terminal end, dust or moisture on a circuit board, the plate needs cleaning, the contacts for the plate need cleaning, the bulb ballast needs to be replaced, the bulb may not be properly installed, the support posts for the plate need cleaning. These are all I can think of at the moment.
