The detergent dispenser drawer leaks and water runs down the front of the washing machine. This does not happen when filling, only when rinsing. Have cleaned the drawer thoroughly but it still happens. Any ideas how to cure this please?

suspect problem is that water is not draining fast enough so when machine gets to spin there is too much water present which gets thrown up thro thew soap drawer. check the filter. on many hotpoint filter is not obvious. at back, take off bottom panel. you will see a large dia hose going from bottom of machine to pump. undo this hose at the tub end and the filter is inside it. be carefull. if you havn\'t managed to drain, a lot of water will come out. if this doesn\'t work, get back to me if you want

Possible your detergent dispenser is clogged, use an old toothbrush to clear out. Because of dried-up detergent clogging it................

We had the same problem, It was a pair of sock stuck behind the seal in the drum blocking the water inlet to the drum. Like others we managed to get our fingers between the metal of the drum and the rubber seal near the detergent dispensor to remove the sock.

The water is left there because the syphon action is not working in the dispenser, what you need to do is to remove the dispenser drawer completely and thoroughly clean the conditioner compartment, poking any holes or tube, particularly the syphon tube with a piece of flexible wire or similar to ensure it is completely unblocked.
. to test, fill the conditioner compartment with water, and it should slowly empty itself, if it does not, then it is still blocked.
Plz rate this solution.Thanks.

This machine has a water valve that works on vaccuum from the tub. You will see a small clear hose that runs from the side of the tub up to this valve. This valve is adjustable to change the water level in the tub to desired setting on some machines, but if it goes bad, it will not shut off, thus overflowing the tub. Find this valve and replace it if adjustment does not work.

Mine is doing the exact same thing! I've only had my machine for a little over a year.
