try the battery it may have the problem or i suspected that your charger is the real deal maybe its broken because you say t wont charge right ,or the connection between the battery and the psp so if u charge it it wont because the psp battery isn`t connected to th PSP thanks
please check ur battery if it is holding any charge with a Multimeter or has it leeked.Try a differ PSP battery.B ecause the PSP needs the battery to start.
It could be a bad battery or you can check under the psp if you can turn it on and make sure that under Settings > System Settings > USB Charge is set to on. If it is and it isn't charging then it's a bad battery.
try to insert its usb and attach it to the ON computer
if it still wont charge, try to borrow psp battery from your friend and test it. if still doesnt work, the unit itself must be the problem..try to look for sony service center near your place,if the psp unit waranty is still valid, they will repair it free.
If it won't charge and wont power up then same thing happened to me. If you are willing to open up your psp there is a video on youtube that can show you whats wrong. The cable that connects the buttons on the right side most likely disconnected from the main board and the right side of the psp including the buttons, the power switch and the top right trigger won't respond. When you try to turn on the psp and when its charging if the light won't come on then you might have this problem.
