Maybe the battery is full charged. run without plugging in that is best. pluging in and battery at full charge is not a good thing.

SOURCE: My samsung laptop will not turn on. How do I fix this?

Hi

Possible reasons why your laptop doesn't boot ( Power on with green light indicator lit)

-battery problem
-memory problem
-power failure
-etc ( maybe one of the hardware that is connected inside your laptop)

Troubleshooting steps:

1. First you need to try switching on your laptop without the battery
Basically you will remove the battery of your laptop and connect the ac power then switch it on.

a. If your laptop boot up ( with a green light indicator ) the problem will be the battery.
b. If the laptop does not boot up continue using step 2.

2. Unplug the power adapter , remove the battery and memory
Watch this video and it will help you to remove the memory
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdDf46XKXiE&feature=related
NOTE: Your not going to upgrade your memory!

After removing the memory put it back close the panel and put back the screw.

Now after putting the memory , Try to plug the ac adapter and press the power button and check if your laptop will boot ( No need to put back the battery because your laptop will power up with out the battery )

If your laptop will still have the same problem the best thing to do is to bring it on the nearest support center for Samsung laptop because there's a possibility the problem will be the hardware that is connected inside your laptop.

I want to provide you the complete information on how to open your laptop however since your just new with this and to avoid any damages the best thing that you can do is to bring it on laptop specialist if the troubleshooting steps that I provided will not work.

Be careful Alright! Good luck
Have a nice day

SOURCE: laptop wont charge. light does not come on

It is most likely a bad battery. Also, if you can find another charger like the one you have you could check to see if the charger itself is the problem. In my experience, the battery is the likely culprit.

SOURCE: sAMSUNG LAPTOP PLUGGED IN NOT CHARGING

try removing the battery and just use the mains power. If the laptop works you may need a new battery. If it doesn't your charger is faulty.

Samsung R511 blinking orange with battery in its slot/place. Removing battery results in green light but laptop does not boot...not even bios screen. ..just remains dead. Laptop works normal with charged...

R511 or RV511-a01. use correct model?
R511 is DVR player, so I call TYPO.
answering for RV511 now. ( 8 years old at least)
Notebook NP-RV511 , this? with windows 7 still?
you said it runs normal with a charged battery
is that history past or now.

then you said, remedy, and my socks fall off
what? "without battery and work on AC, no battery)
so you are saying the power pack is dead.
buy one, end this saga., $15 power pack off fleabay.

the #1 cause of bad troubleshooting is Assumptions/.
like my battery is good, you'd need a same PC known good to know that and test the battery there.to prove that. Batteries are the #1 failure mode of all PCs made. period. so.... even 1 year old !!! abused.
no battery lasts 8 years, ok

ECON110 , no tools , no meters, no spare parts to do tests. (am i right)
1: runs on AC ok battery out buy a new battery for $15

2: runs on battery only but not on AC only
buy a $15 AC power pack. (a dmm meter used now will prove its bad, (we test at the mobo jack live)

3: runs on AC but the new battery will not charge,
buy new mother board, the charging chip on board is toast $300

econ 101 wins lacking tools

or get the PC serviced in shop that has tools.

My samsung rv511 wont charge at all even though the charge is on, seems like something inside it might be wrong but I don't exactly know what?

You will need to replace the battery. Laptop batteries lasts approximately 3yrs. This can be significantly reduced if the laptop remains plugged in most of the time.

Adapter from power cord gets power, but is not charging samsung rv511 laptop

Step 1:
b> If your laptop charger seems broken, it's most likely because the battery will not charge. You plug in the cord, the lights come on, but the charging light doesn't change or blinks repeatedly. When you remove the power cord, the laptop shuts off instantly due to the depleted battery. There's more than one cause for this, and it's not always a broken charger.

Check the connection between the charger and the laptop. It should fit firmly in the DC jack without wiggling. If it is loose, use electrical tape to hold it in place so the charger can receive power. This is a temporary fix, however, because a faulty connection can create sparks and cause a fire or injury. A loose connection will just get worse over time, so have it sent to a DC jack specialist as soon as possible. Turn off the laptop and flip it upside down. Locate the latch that secures the battery and slide open. The battery should pop out; give it a tug if it doesn't. Apply a small amount of rubbing alcohol (Methylated Spirits)to the tip of a cotton swab and use it to clean the battery's connectors. Dirt can build up and interfere with the connection, giving the appearance of a broken charger. Let the alcohol dry completely and re-insert the battery. Slide the latch to secure it and plug in the power cord to test it. See if the laptop powers on with the charger only and battery removed. If it does, the battery is the likely culprit and should be replaced. If the charger is truly broken, the only thing to do is to replace it or the power cord attached to it. Look on the bottom and write down the part number. Call the laptop manufacturer for a replacement charger or search for the part number on eBay. If you purchase from anyone other than the original manufacturer, ask for genuine parts to reduce the possibility of problems. Troubleshoot Mag Safe adaptors

My Samsung RV511 Laptop isn't getting power.

Most likely problem in this instance is a loose dc socket. it is a cheap fix or you can re-solder it yourself, if you have the ability.

My laptop charging port is not working problem. I have to wiggle it about and selotape it into place for the computer to charge. What do you think is the most likely cause the port its self or the charger?

I think it is because of the loose dc jack. So
You need to get the DC Power Jack Either Repaired or replaced...this is the "female" port where your AC Power cord plugs into.. To Repair the current DC Jack...First you'll need to look closely at the Positive posts to see that they are not broken.. If visibally ok.. then you can look at the Solder Connections.. they will need to first be Desoldered.. Cleaned, then Resoldered back in place....

How will be i identify it is fully charged battery i charged for 45 minites. But the battery will not be fully charged. please send me the solution for this problems

If using usb charger use usb port on back of desktop, not data port in front, also most laptops do not have fully powered usb ports due to battery consumption. The wall charger, or a usb charger plugged into a usb/ac adapter (like included with ipods and kindles or sold seperately) is your best bet for reliable charge.
Charging unit should have a light on it.
When charger is plugged into power source and not helicopter, the light will show you {#1} what it looks like when battery is fully charged. Typically this is steady on, and usually red. (sometimes green) When you connect helicopter to charger, the light will change (usually goes dark) to signify it is charging {#2}. When light comes on fully (or completely returns to #1) then charging is done. (Note: charging using a laptop usb or a front side data port usb can take several hours.) Watch the light on charging unit when you unplug helicopter, if it gets brighter, helicopter is not charged, plug it back in. Make sure to let battery cool for 10 minutes after every charge and 10 minutes after every flight, and never run battery all the way down. As soon as you can't maintain altitude, land and power off. Fully draining a Li/Po battery weakens it's ability to hold a charge and can ruin it.
If all else fails, replacement batteries are available from Amazon and many others, they are cheap (around 5$) and very easy to install with no soldering and just a small screwdriver.
Hope this helps
