Blue flashing light on lumipure air purifier

I don't have an owners manual and after a few days of getting the lumipure, a blue light started flashing on top. I'm guessing a filter needs cleaning or someting. I cleaned the blades and don't see any other servicable parts. help???

I read on another site to hold the power button down for 5 seconds. Dont know what the blue light is but this stopped it from flashing!

The blue light means it is time for cleaning. Your unit should have come with a wand that has a spongy surface on the end. This is used to clean the "guts" of the air purifier. That means you have to push the little black button on the front and open the top. Pull up and out the unit that is held together with a plastic nut. Unscrew that nut and the unit comes apart. Clean the outside of each piece with a wet rag and the inside with the cleaning wand. Let it dry and then put it back in the unit and start if back up. Don't forget, you have press the start button twice to make the purifying (ultraviolet) light come back on.

The blue light flashing means it's time to clean. When you put the clean filters back in then yes, hold it down for five seconds or so to reset the light. Pushing the on/off once turns the unit on, pushing twice turns on the uv-c light.

Wayne,
I have attached a copy of the owner's manual. Page 6 in Safety section discusses why the light blinks. I hope it solves your blinking blue light issue.

The Intelli-Check™ Filter Monitors will indicate replacement of the pre-filter and the

HEPA filter. Depending upon your individual usage (environment and hours used),

you may need to check and replace the filters more or less frequently.

To check Expected Filter Life Usage

When the unit is turned on, quickly press the appropriate filter monitor button. The

pre-filter light will flash up to 3 times and the HEPA filter light will flash up to 4 times,

depending upon how much expected filter life has been used.

PREFILTER:

1 flash = from new, up to 1/3 expected life used up

2 flashes = between 1/3 and 2/3 expected life used up

3 flashes = between 2/3 and all of expected life used up

Remains on = time to check/replace pre-filter

HEPA FILTER:

1 flash = from new, up to 1/4 expected life used up

2 flashes = between 1/4 and 1/2 expected life used up

3 flashes = between 1/2 and 3/4 expected life used up

4 flashes = between 3/4 and all of expected life used up

Remains on = time to check/replace HEPA filter

To RESET Filter Monitor

When the filter monitor light remains on, it is time to check/replace the filter and reset

the filter monitor, if needed. With the unit powered on, press and hold the appropriate

filter monitor button down for approximately 5 seconds until the light turns off.

What is a RCI or RCT cell?

The RCI cell is the "honeycomb" with the blue UV light. This is the normal purifier in the machine. It needs to be replaced about every 3 years, as the UV loses its power, even though it may still be lighting up. Call the company (now called Vollara) at 800-989-2299 and give 16618 as the dealer referral number if you need a replacement and/or an owners manual. Also, you can download the manual at www.myvollara.com. If this doesn't answer your question, you can contact us at [email protected]

How do I clean the Oreck Air 7

Hi There,

Here's how you can clean the machine, and I have copied the link to the owners manual below for your convenience.

Cleaning
The Cabinet
You can clean the air purifier cabinet with mild, non-abrasive cleanser and a
soft cloth. IMPORTANT: Unplug the unit from its electrical power source.
Do not spray cleansers or furniture polish into the louver or grill areas.

Collector Cell
Indicator light is green under normal operation and flashes red
when the cell requires cleaning. To clean, proceed as follows:
The red "WASH CELL" light will flash or illuminate when it is
time to clean your cell. However, it is recommended that every four to
eight weeks or if snapping sounds become frequent, clean your
electronic air purifier. Your electronic air purifier is still filtering the air
when the red light illuminates. Cleaning your electronic air purifier is a
snap too... and a must for efficient operation.
1. Turn the unit off and unplug it from the electric power source. If wall
mounted, remove unit from wall.
2. Remove front grill by unscrewing the retainer screw under the grill on
the cabinet bottom. (fig. 1)

3. Pull the cell out of the cabinet by using the two small handles on the
front of the cell. (fig. 2)

4. Snap off the charcoal odor absorber from the back of the cell. Change
as necessary for continued odor removal. (fig. 3)
5. Slide off pre-filter. This can be cleaned with the cell and reused. (fig. 4)
NOTE: Handle the electronic cell with care. Damaged metal plates
and/or broken wires will cause the air purifier to malfunction. (Do
not wash charcoal odor absorber; it is disposable.)
Cleaning with Assail-A-Cell® Cell Cleaner:
6. Using Assail-A-Cell® Cleaner, thoroughly saturate the cell and prefilter.
Be sure to spray between each cell plate and cover every
surface. Allow product to soak for a few minutes, not allowing it to dry.
Rinse thoroughly with water. For extremely heavy deposits, repeat the
process.
IMPORTANT: Dry the collection cell thoroughly outside of the
air purifier before reinstalling it into the air purifier. Ensure
that all areas including corners and areas that may trap
water are dry before reinstalling into the air purifier. DO NOT
place a wet or damp collection cell in the air purifiereff1848.jpg
