Precor 5.17i lift wobbly

On an incline higher than 5, I hear a banging nose of metal on metal when pressing down with my left foot. I can't figure out if it's the lift mechanism or the ramp....

INcline it all the way up and look underneath the ramp. Check where the ramp attaches to the main frame. If there are cracks in the bottom of the ramp, you need a new ramp, especially if you have a steel ramp as opposed to alumunum.

SOURCE: The ramp will not go up or down. It's states low

The ramp system has a battery monitoring system. If the battery voltage falls below 11 Vdc when the ramp movement is initiated or the battery voltage falls below 10 Vdc after ramp movement has been initiated, ramp movement will be stopped and gives that error message. The ramp will not be enabled until such time as the battery voltage exceeds the above limits. The battery voltage must be raised to be to correct this problem either by charging or replacing the battery.

My freemotion i5.3 incline trainer shut off while I was walking on it and now it will not turn back on.

I have a Freemotion i5.3 Incline Trainer. When I run on it at 4+ MPH it makes loud bangs when my foot land on the platform. I usually walk on it at higher incline and just recently started running on it. The bangs are much louder at 0% incline than at higher inclines for the same speed. What might be the problem?

How to adjust my Thompson mini walking model PW - 300 pressure foot.

When I think 'higher lift' and leather - I think 'less pressure on the material' Ergo, release pressure on the pressure foot. Usually atop the left side of any machine. Press down on outer ring, to release pressure. Test on extra material. Hope this helps.

The incline on our Precor c964i is stuck in a high position (approx. 10% incline). Other than being on a high incline, the treadmill seems to be working fine.

Hi There,

Precor uses a pair of Triacs to drive the lift up and down. These triacs live on the lower board but are driven by the upper console commands via a serial link between the upper and lower. Most precor lift issues we see are related to the lower board but with Precor it could be an upper board or the CPU Chip that resides on the lower board or a failed Triac. Good Luck

On an incline higher than 5, there is a metal on metal sound as I press down my left foot. I removed the front panel but I can't tell if it's the lift mechanism or the ramp....

Is the ramp steel or aluminum? (steel is magnetic, aluminum is not) If steel, the ramp probably broke - if you tip it over, you may be able to see the tear in the metal. Replace the ramp.

Precor efx 546 wobbles when raising incline

It may be either the front shroud is installed incorrectly or broken, or the corkscrew for the incline motor is bent. If it is bent, it would need to be replaced.

Cuts off and speed is variable and shows err 4

Precor Error E4, Incomplete Initialization Probable Cause Indicates that an incomplete upper PCA to lower PCA initialization occurred. When this error occurs, all lift motor and drive motor motion is ceased and the display will go blank except for the error displayed.
Corrective Action Run the initialization program. Caution: The treadmill's running belt will accelerate to the treadmill's maximum speed (12mph). DO NOT stand on the treadmill's running belt during the procedure.
  1. Set the on/off switch to the OFF position. Wait a minimum of 10 seconds to allow the internal power supply to discharge.
  2. Remove the safety key from the console and set the on/off switch to the ON position.
  3. Press INCLINE UP and SPEED DOWN keys together. While pressing these keys, replace the safety switch on the console. Continue holding the INCLINE UP and SPEED DOWN keys until the display goes blank. INIT will appear in the time window of the display. The EEPROM is now clear and reset. After a second, 1.25 will appear in the distance/calories window, 15.0 (the maximum incline) will appear in the incline window, and 12.0 (the maximum speed) will flash in the speed/pace window.
  4. Press QUICKSTART to begin the speed calibration process. Power bits will appear in the incline window, the target speed will appear in the time window and the actual speed will appear in the speed/pace window. At the beginning of the process, the target speed will be .5mph. The running belt will start. Once the actual speed reaches .5mph, the target speed will then change to 12mph and the running belt will accelerate until it reaches 12mph, then it will stop.
  5. When the running belt stops, the display will return to the user mode and the initialization process is complete.

The ramp will not go up or down and it doesn't state low battery (546i precor)

It doesn't always say low battery - check the battery first. If the battery is fine, then check the lower board and the incline motor.
