Does it loose power? You can have a overheating in the coolant sensor and oil is not hot... this usually is a problem with the joint of the head of the motor leaking pressure to coolant circuit.

2003 dodge durango heater switch hasnt worke on high for a while today stopped working all togethor

It's probably the blower motor resistor. It can overheat and burn out, often melting the connector so the connector cannot be separated. See the linked YouTube video for information on replacing the resistor, and connector if necessary.

Check the TPS Sensor on throttle body (throttle position)

Also the Air Idle Control Solenoid at the base
of throttle body, on side

Spark plugs strangely make a difference on the dakota,
clean rotor & cap

There is no timing adjustment

Never move your distributor,it is for

1988 Dodge Dakota problem. I have an 88 Dakota with a 2.2 engine. The MPG just dropped in half from 20 down to 10 I had the carb all checked and adjusted. Sill runs well. Any ideas?

you may have a half way plug fuel filter a bad EGR valve or a bad Oxygen sensor give these websites a try www.alldatadiy.com and www.autozone.com if all fails stop by your local library and get your hands on a Haynes auto repair manual for your truck wish you the best of luck Michigan Man.

95 Dakota overheats

the black chunks could possibly be from someone putting a stop leak solution into the radiator first drain the coolant system fill up with clean water put in some Prestone 10 minute flush and then drain and put in a flush tee in the heater hose not the one going to the water pump but the one going to the engine block open up the drain hose and run water through until clear and refill with new antifreeze and make sure car runs until all air bubbles are out and then replace the cap
