Your laptop have bios password. You have to remove it. If you the original owner you can seek help from Dell.

If what you need is the driver for your laptop. Go to http://support.dell.com and click on drivers. Once there it would ask you if you would like to search for drivers using the service tag or by choosing the model. It would be best to just enter the service tag. Your service tag would be located at the bottom of your laptop on a small dark gray sticker.

No problem. If this is a windows passwod, you will need to boot into safe mode by hitting the F8 key at start up. Once you're in safe mode, log in under the administrator, from there you can go into user accounts and clear the password.

Now if this is a bios password, you will need to contact Dell support directly. You will need the service tag and express code from the bottom of the machine. They will give you a master code for the machine to get you past the password. They also require that you are the registered owner of the machine in their files. This is easy to do, there is a tag in the left hand corner of Dell's support page that reads register ownership. The link bellow will take you to the contact info you need to call Dell support.

So I bought a Latitude D620 and I bet u heard this a million times already it came with the famous This system #xxxxxxx-xxxx, is protected by a password authentication system. Any help from the gods of this site would be appreciated. below are the numbers needed i believe,

272-081-320-75 Express code
This system #CHZ0P2J-595B is protected by a password authentication system.
