Reverse polarity light tells if the the hot wire is reverse with the neutral wire. My guess is your "home" cable wiring is incorrect.

SOURCE: reverse polarity

Its a simple fix. Follow the cord that plugs into the wall into the furnace. Or if its hard wire, follow the romex wire that goes into your furnace. Inside the furnace, switch the white and black wires that connects to the power cord. www.fastacservice.com

Trying to reverse polarity to 12 volt bulb sockets 1157 type in order to use LED bulbs in my electric scooter.

all of this work when all you need is the correct LED units
bulbs work which ever way the polarity is and bulb holders (sockets are always positive to the enter with the ground being on the outside)
by reversing the polarity at the battery terminals , other items that require a positive feed only , like the ignition module , converter etc will burn out
Flashers work through a relay and by reversing the polarity the coil used to close the points will not work
Replace all of the units that you have damaged by reversing the polarity and just connect the led 's up as you would a normal bulb
All of the rest is from you very limited knowledge of electrics

I have a Polk audio PWS 110 powered subwoofer. Static sound is coming from the speaker. I have checked all the connections and everything appears to be ok.

go to the hardware store and buy a cheap plug-in polarity checked for the electrical socket. If the polarity is reversed, or your ground is improper is will give you a different colored light. Polarity is easy to reverse. Shut off the main breaker box in your home and simply take the cover off the outlet and swap the two wires with the narrow and wider blades on them. Make sure the ground wire is actually grounded to something like a water pipe of connected to the house ground rod, #4 rebar, 18 inches long with a thick copper wire and brass auto batt connector will work fine... bury it deep and remember where it is in the flower bed underneath a window sill outside. If the subwoofer is near the TV, you made be getting interference from it, if the cabinet is not shielded against RF.

On my Autotrail Tracker Motorhome , when i plug the mains in the reverse polarity light comes on ( i have checked the wires both ends ok ) but when i plug it in on a camping site its ok , the only...

it is a strange one. you do need an earth wire lead but the problem i'm seeing is that your mains maybe the wrong way round.. try another socket to plug into but im thinking the socket you are using is wired the wrong way round. camp sites are tested on a regular basis as they have a lot of use on there plugs so there sockets will be the right voltage and the right way round for the volts.

Honda eu10i reverses polarity on boat

Polarity lights in AC means that it thinks the wrong input lead is earthed ie neutral.

If polarity detector is showing that there is no neutral earth bond it may not be a bug but a feature, as standard the EU10i would not have an earth neutral bond.

Otherwise I can not see why your detector thinks there is a polarity reversal.

Using Lowes mechanical timer in Hadco TC654-15 landscape lighting transformer. Have tried 3 timers now and timer clock does not work when plugged into the transformer. if I bypass the timer, low voltage...

Always a good idea to check outlet with cheap circuit analyzer.
And move timer to different outlet to see if difficulties are outlet-specific.
Try timer at neighbor's house.
Having 3 defects in a row is unusual.

There are no repairs for defective timers.

Timer clock motors stop working for many reasons, bad manufacturing of plastic gears and power surge and dirt and reversed polarity among the causes.
Using household plug-in timer is typical solution since clock modules are not sold separately.

Following link gives tips for having low-voltage power pack last longer, in case you decide to buy Intermatic-Malibu from Home Depot:

I have an electric scooter/bike from http://www.giobikes.com/Electric-Scooters-in-Canada/ When I received it, nothing worked on it accept the alarm system. The battery wasn't charging, and I was told...

Dear Citiboyblu,
Yes.... if the battery has gone flat and then charged with the positive and negative leads reversed, it will adopt a reverse charge.

There's a theory that if you flatten a lead/acid battery then reverse charge it then flatten it again and charge it correctly. Some of the lead sulphate that contaminates the plates will be dissolved back into sulphuric acid and increase the performance/lifetime of the battery.

Never tried, so don't know if the theory works.

My Nordic Track Exp 1000 X runs in reverse.

Hi,

Your treadmill runs on a permanent magnet DC motor. If it is running backwards someone has swapped the pos and neg leads where it connects to the motor control board MC-60. OR

the brushes were removed from the motor, and installed into the WRONG locations. there is a plus sign and a neg sign on the end cap of the motor, make sure the RED wire is going to the pos sign,.and so forth.

to get to the motor you'll need to remove the 4 phillips head screws FROM the bottom of the motor enclosure: lay the unit on it's side to get to them. 2 in the front,.and 1 on each side. If it doesn't come off easy,.you've missed a screw.

Lay the unit back down, and start digging in.

Lastly, you can verify the MC-60 is outputting the wrong polarity voltage with a voltmeter. Disconnec the motor and connect your voltmeter on a 20 volt DC range ( at least). plug your unit in, and turn it on at 3 mph. you should see positive voltage applied to the read lead.

It's very unlikely that the control board would swap the polarity, so, my bet is,...the wires are switched.

good luck.

Front drivers side window will not go up or down?

Your window is powered by a reverse polarity electric 12 volt motor. To raise, the polarity travels in one direction. To lower, it is reversed. Gain access to the motor by removing the door panel and locate two wire connection to the motor. Connect two leads to the motor that you know are one each, positive current and negative current Motor should run in one connected way and also run in the other connected way. If motor doesn't run, motor is bad..
